"Dr Patel and staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Always a great experience here!"
"I started going to Troy Family Health Center in the summer of last year. I was recommended to them after my previous doctor was promoted and was no longer seeing patients. My first experience was very good, they checked me in quickly, confirmed that they took my insurance. My appointment went very quickly and the medical staff that I met were very nice. We set up some follow-up appointments and that was that. Here is where the trouble began. Not long after that appointment I received an expensive bill for said appointment. I was very confused because that appointment should have been completely covered by my insurance. If it wasn’t completely covered, it only should have been a very small co-pay. Trying to get ahold of the billing department on the phone to determine why I was being billed this amount was nearly impossible. The portal is not very effective either, I kept getting the run around. After several frustrating phone calls with my insurance company, a representative was finally able to determine that the medical staff that I was seen by was not actually covered by my insurance. Turns out she moved recently from out of state and was not yet enrolled to be an in network doctor for the state. Well that makes sense, but at no time prior to my appointment was I told that would be an out of network expense. I was actually told the opposite because at the time of my appointment, I asked if needed to pay my copay. I continued for several months to try and rectify bill. I used the portal, got the doctor involved and was told this was going to be fixed. Instead here I am seven months later with the bill having gone to collections. I am beyond frustrated. Anyone have recommendations for medical billing lawyers?"
"Upon moving to Albany, I had a hard time finding a primary care doctor. However, the front desk personnel were extremely helpful in booking me for an appointment as soon as possible. There was minimal wait time in the waiting area, and I was seen by the doctor quickly. Since then, I have had several appointments, and every experience has been seamless, from the front desk to the nurses, techs, and doctors."
"The receptionist are terrible and rude. Nobody picks up the phone. They tell you to use the my patient portal chart. Because it's past already getting a response. If that's the case, why is there any receptionist there? If they can't do their job, simply answer and pick up the phone. I've called 5 times and waited on the phone and nobody picks up, and some of the nurses in the back are actually also just as rude as the receptionist This place is supposed to be a host center to help people. You're not helping people by not being able to answer their questions. If nobody is there to pick up the phone, you're not there to help people if you're gonna be rude to your patients and bring their stress level up Like most of the receptionists in the front, eat their snacks and talk carp about the patients, and most of the nurses are physicians. I have patience to deal with any simple medical problems. Trying to figure out what happened when I got their degrees from. Without actually taking the time to sit down and take care of the problem, they just try to rotate you in and out like a revolving door it's all the money In Insurance, they don't actually care about your hair"
