Reviews of Beverly Hospital
"If I could give this hospital zero stars I would! Especially the emergency department. I had a seizure and went to the hospital ER to get checked out after being told by another provider to return to the emergency room if I was having recurrent seizures, which I was. The doctor and triage nurse immediately confronted me and said 'what makes you think you actually had a seizure'. When I tried to explain he proceed to laugh at me and tell me to 'stop withholding information' when I couldn't remember clearly. I was dazed and confused already considering I had just had a seizure 40 mins prior to walking in. The doctor only checked my blood glucose and then discharged me all within twenty minutes of arriving. I will never recommend nor return to their emergency department."
"I had my baby there last year in winter time the heat exploded my room was super cold and they don’t change the all night, the moment when I had my delivery no body was in the room so my baby born alone. Also my baby birth certificate is wrong and they don’t want change anything and now I need pay $200 for the mistake in the court. So be careful"
"I don’t know what the problem is here. I’ve been treating here in the past multiple times over the years with great success and outcome. But, whatever has happened, whether they were sold to a bigger “health care provider” or what it is now somewhere I never want to be stuck at again! I came in with severe pain from an ongoing stomach issue. First off I was “forgotten’” multiple times and sat in a ER room until my father showed up and advocated for me. It took 8 hrs to get medication and another 4 to get a room. Now the best part. I had to share a room with 3 others, which I have had no issues with in the past. However the room could NOT smell anymore like urine and feces. There was a very large puddle of urine in the bathroom that was there so long it dried into the grossest stickiness you can imagine. I think they got to it midway the following day. On top of all of this my roommates are older so they leave their tvs and phones on full all night with lights on, you know -just in case. And apparently they only advocate for patients on weekends, nice! The takeaway here is if you have people you love do not bring them here if you care about them."
"I was transported from AGH to Beverly Hospital by ambulance on Thurs morning. Once in the hospital, I was put in a 4 person ( tiny) room. I thought that those multi person rooms were uncommon. As a patient in Burlington before, all the rooms appeared private. After about 30 minutes I requested a different room; for obvious reasons, I will not discuss it here. I did get my wish and had a lovely roommate and was able to rest better. That was a stroke of luck. I was on the 6th floor and the nursing staff was warm and efficient. They were good humored, kind and were able to help the anxiety typical of an unexpected hospital visit. The Dr who saw me was knowledgeable and communicated well. However, I arrived at roughly 8:30 on Thurs morning and never saw a Beverly doctor until mid morning on Friday. Apparently they counted my early emergency room visit as a day's dr visit. The food was pretty good- I had a great tomato soup and the staff who entered were, over all, polite. My biggest concern is the number of people in the room situation and all of those people are likely to be sharing the bathroom, etc. I was fortunate and had a short stay and at the time my immune system was weaker than normal. This was my second visit to Beverly Hospital- the last one was two years ago and I could see a decline in cleanliness and lack of adequate staffing. The nursing staff seemed to be stretched very thin and that is not their fault,; but it is a management issue. I will make sure to request Burlington if I have a choice in the future."
