"NOT LOCAL. BULK GENERICS REPACKAGED. Absolutely abhorrent and an affront to the local articans that the Cape is famous for. My Aunt has lived on the Cape since 1965. Visiting I followed the signs that said "rare jellies" and "oldest working farm". Well if by oldest working farm you mean working over both the locals and the tourists that your community depends on, then I guess that's true. I specifically asked what was grown here. I was told beach plums, cranberries, strawberries. I bought 12 jams and some other things. About 100$ and the lady asked if I wanted a box. Well when I got home I realized on one side of the box is the Toney Farms label and the other side is a bulk jelly label from freaking New Jersey! Can you believe that I came from New Jersey, and send my family home things from "Cape Cod" that were actually from New Jersey! I understand growing the produce and having a 3rd party cook and can your jams. But apparently none of the ingredients are grown on the farm. I went back and took a look at what's growing, not much. My Aunt drove by in the morning and saw pumkins being delivered in huge cardboard boxes. I again understand the need to import seasonal goods but as an avid gardener I know pumpkins grow very well up north. I called back after discovering the sticker and asked what if anything was made local. The woman said "i dont know" and would not let me speak with a manager or owner to ask what was local. She said they'll call me back. I called more than once and never heard anything. Shame an you, no better than a walmart."
"Buy locally & support this historical family business! Prices are very competitive without the razz Le dazzle of other miseries. I buy all my annuals & perennials here, as well as potting soul at great prices."
