"I cry every time I think of this school. K-3 was my best years year but due to bullying I had to go to Ledyard Elementary in Connecticut for 4th grade"
"My wife was hired as a teacher at Albany Community Charter School. She had recently moved to the Capital Region holding teaching certification in Missouri, California, Texas, Maine, and North Carolina where we was teacher of the year in the Robeson County School District. She brought over 25 years experience teaching in a multicultural environment having lived and taught in Costa Rica, Colombia and on the Mexican border. At Albany Community School she was told that she could not be a lead teacher due to not having New York certification. At the end of her tenure there we learned that the grade chair under whom she worked was NOT certified and had a third the experience she had. The atmosphere created by the leadership with highly racists. There was not an American flag anywhere on the premises and she was instructed not to have the pledge of allegiance spoken in the classroom. She had never received a negative review of her teaching skills in multiple States until she taught there. It is very embarrassing and disturbing to think that our tax dollars go to fund a school where patriotic values are not taught not encouraged. Shame on SUNY."
