"I never leave reviews for anything because they are mostly a waste of time and companies don't care, but I'm making an exception here to warn anyone trying to open an online account with Salem 5. I applied for a savings account. NOT A LOAN, but a savings account. Right? They asked for additional documentation and I promptly provided it. I sent a message online asking for the status and received no reply. Their chat button doesn't work. I sent them this message and requested they cancel my application. It seems to me this bank has more applicants, customers, and/or business than they can comfortably handle. If I can't trust them to handle my application how can I trust them to handle my money?"

"Great local bank based on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Fast, friendly service in this (Tewksbury) location and also North Andover. (I haven't been to other locations.) This banking institution is an amazing breath of fresh air compared to the Mega-banks with their long wait times and impersonal service. I really hope Salem Five doesn't get swallowed up by a bigger bank. They are perfect just the way they are!"

"Ever since this bank has bought Sage bank I’ve had nothing but issues. From my debit card , direct deposits , payments , to my online banking ,and even with my deposits . This has been the worst transition I’ve ever had & I wish Salem Five never brought Sage Bank . First thing in the morning I’m cancelling this account and heading over to Jean Dearc. I’ve never had so many issues in such a short amount of time. I’ll never recommend this bank to anyone.Im quite disappointed. I stayed with Sage for so long because they bent over backwards to do whatever they could help. The branch is full of people I don’t know and policies that I never had to deal with before and I’m over it."
