"The customer service at this store is awful! I placed an online order for an Easter dress yesterday and went to the store to pick it up several hours later. When I entered the store, there were only one or two other customers, so I believed that my order would be ready, especially since I had only ordered one item. Prior to going to the counter to inquire about my order, I checked the racks for the dress that I was looking for in the size that I was looking for, and it was available on the rack. When I went to the counter to inquire about my order,, the cashier left me waiting for several minutes as she checked the back for an order with my name on it. When she came back, she checked the computer and told me that my order had not arrived at the store yet and that I could not pick it up yet (I found this hard to believe considering that I placed the order for in store pick-up and did not choose the ship to store option and the exact dress that I needed was on the rack). It seemed like complete laziness on the store’s part. I asked the lady if I could just have the dress on the rack in lieu of the dress that would be arriving for me since I was already there and the same exact dress was on the rack, and she told me that I’d have to pay again to have that dress even though I had already paid for the same exact one online. She also explained that I would need to go through the process of cancelling the order when it was ready to get refunded. It was not right that the store was making me pay again just because my order wasn’t ready, but I did not want to have to go back because the mall is a bit far from my home and I do not drive, so I bought the dress again and decided that I’d just cancel the payment. When I went to pay, I tried to use a coupon that I had that I used online for that same dress, and the cashier told me that I could not use it because I had already used it. So I ended up having to pay twice to get the dress that I needed, wasn’t able to apply the discount to the dress that I was actually buying, and now I have to go through the process of cancelling the order that I had originally placed online (oh and by the way, The Children’s Place/Gymboree e-mailed me a little over an hour later to let me know that my order was ready at the store… smh). Never shopping at this store again."
"No idea how they can have HUGE SIGNS in the front of all their windows that state "MONSTER SALE **EVERYTHING IN STORE IS 75% OFF".... Then I get up to the register, employee already starts off with a bad attitude even before I asked why the total came out to 260$... She tells me that "it's only up to 75% on clearance items......."...... I just paid it to not hold up the line but really don't think it was worth even half of what I spent there.. So pretty much just don't believe any of the sale signs they put up.. (there was no fine print on it either)"
"I got a shirt as a Christmas gift for a boy who is months old from The Children's Place that was size 3T instead. Shirt was never worn and had all tags still attached. I asked to exchange it and they refused because they were out of stock of the exact item. I asked if I could swap it for something similar in the appropriate size, or 1 size up, and they said no because I didn't have a gift receipt. My only option is to keep this shirt in my closet for 2 years. They weren't rude or anything. And I get that policies are policies. But I was very disappointed by their complete inability (and care) to try to demonstrate any kind of customer service. This father of a 9 mo old and one on the way will not be a customer of this store going forward."
