Willie Miranda Jr: Allstate Insurance

"Wish All-State would state if you have a moving violation at all they won't insure you. That is very sad because can't make a mistake."

"I’ve been a customer of Allstate and subsequently, this office, for 8 years. I get annual phone calls on my birthday, or in the middle of a work day trying to sell me additional coverage, but when I call to ask questions about my policy, I’m consistently told they don’t have the information I’m looking for and I end up having to call the main Allstate number. They treat you well when you first sign your policy and they get their commission check, and then after that you’re just a bother to them. Just today I spoke with Lisa Colon, who instead of helping me try to figure out why changes I’d made in the Allstate portal weren’t reflecting in my policy, she just kept repeating that “she doesn’t get notifications of that,” which is not what I was asking. After about 10 minutes of her responding to my questions with “we don’t get notifications of that,” and “corporate deals with that,” I finally asked her what her broker office actually does, because I’m genuinely confused as to what their role is and if they’re just facilitators of the policy rather than being the go to for policy questions. She rudely responded that she “wasn’t going to do this with me,” and then refused to speak with me because apparently being confused as to what role an insurance agent plays is offensive. I ended up calling Allstate and the customer service agent was able to help me in about 5 minutes. I would go with a different Allstate broker, personally. I’ll be changing mine as soon as possible. If you’re not stuck with Lisa Colon you might have a better experience. I see that pretty much every review gives her glowing accolades, but notice they’re from people who either just signed a policy or she sold additional coverage too. She’s not so helpful when you’re taking coverage away. I also wouldn’t be surprised if those people are friends or family, either. Also, the one time I made a late payment because the credit card I had on file was canceled for fraud, I was charged a late payment. Lisa promised to take off the late fee and never did, so now I have to deal with that as well."
