"After many years as a loyal customer, Family Danz has totally disappointed us and left us the easy decision to switch companies. Soon after a scheduled maintenance visit, we began to have daily problems with our furnace. Several "no heat" calls were put in to Family Danz in a two week period. The same tech came out and obviously was not able to troubleshot the issue correctly, only telling us to reset the furnace by turning on and off. Most house calls were answered in 4 hours. But the last call they never came. Thankfully the weather was somewhat warm being Christmas week so portable heaters and a blanket did the job that Family Danz could not. Luckily another local HVAC company was able to come to our rescue."
"What a fantastic company. They came within a few hours of my calling, and knew what they were doing, when another company had misrepresented the work they had done. Kudos to Andre who was kind, and thoughtful. As a layperson, it is often hard to trust companies who say that one needs a new furnace, but he showed me everything, took photos, and spent at least an hour writing up his report and explaining exactly what I needed...really put me at ease. Thanks so much, Family Danz."
"Just had a new boiler installed - they were wonderful. Arrived on time - even helped me out with some previous work that wasn’t done right. Sean, Stefan, and Jason spent all day at the house. Very professional and knowledgeable. One of the owners Ted, Senior came by to see how everything was going. First time in a while that I had such excellent customer service. They were respectful and inspired confidence in their service and product. Would recommend them to anyone - amazing work - thank you!!"
"12/6/23 Edit: Family Danz eventually sent two managers to review the job. They picked up the demo during their visit and scheduled someone to come add a board that would allow my Ecobee to work, which has been a huge help in getting the two floors synched. Sadly, during this visit we discovered that 1) a damper was broken and needed replacement and 2) the humidifier that I had spent $2k on was never installed. I've adjusted the review up to 2-stars thanks to their tech Mel, but continue to recommend other options given my total experience. --Original Review-- I strongly advise you to look at the many other options in the Columbia County area for your heating & cooling. As someone who spent nearly $40k on a new HVAC system that a) doesn't properly heat / cool my home b) resulted in damage to my home during installation and c) has been a nightmare to get someone to come and fix, please trust that I know what I am talking about. Details below: Planning The sales associate - Tom - was helpful and quick in getting me an estimate. A team came out to design and measure the space. A lot of technical jargon is used during the planning phase so this part is hard to keep up with. I needed to request a drawn design of the ducts to ensure that the placement - since they would be visible - would work for us. Installation We were assured that our home would be treated like their own, all furniture would be covered, floors protected from the demo, etc. We had just installed $30k of new hardwood so this was big for us. As a precaution, I covered all our furniture with my own drop cloths, but asked that they add their own to everything. When I arrived after Day One of demo, not only were no drop cloths added, but furniture had been thrown on our bed and popped my drop cloth off and so we had drywall dust in our mattress. The hardwood had not been covered and in a few places, something heavy had obviously been dropped and caused gouges in the wood. Drywall dust is still in the grain of our hardwood since it wasn't covered months later despite our efforts to clean it. Later in the process, I discovered the design had not been followed - in one case, the duct was mounted over the ceiling drywall instead of against the joists themselves to give us the extra 1/2" headroom on a low ceiling - and so work had to be redone multiple times to get it back to design. Job Complete On move-in day - since we had to live elsewhere during installation - the unit threw an error and wouldn't turn on. A tech came and found that the brand new system had burst a coolant line and needed to replace it. Piles of demolition were left under the deck and are still there to this day, despite requests to come pick it up. System Not Working Our downstairs has been running 8-10 degrees different from the upstairs. No dampers were provided in the design and so a single thermostat runs the entire home; there is no way to adjust that temp differential via thermostat. I purchased an Ecobee that could perhaps help us, but the system they installed isn't compatible. When I called to ask for help, I was quoted a $200 service fee and told it was impossible to install an Ecobee. Doing my own research, I found a Bryant 120v adapter for this exact situation. I called to ask them to order and install this part and chased them for 3 weeks with no luck. For the last week, I have been bounced around by managers, had calls not returned, and not once has a technician come to even evaluate the system. The temp differential wasn't a huge issue in summer but now in winter, we have to keep the downstairs at 62 so the upstairs can be 72 and have resorted to using our inefficient baseboard heaters again. Leaving us wondering...why did we pay $40k for this system? All to say, please explore other options. I really hope Family Danz does the right thing and helps resolve these issues - at which point I will update this review. But for now, we are carrying debt for a system that doesn't properly work, our home has been damaged, and Family Danz is failing to make it right."
"We had a new boiler installed, The technicians Chris and Ryan were on time and very professional, after the installation Chris noticed that our hot water tank that was installed by someone else was not up to code and not venting at all, it was 5:30 pm on a Friday and Chris said he was in no way leaving us without hot water or a carbon monoxide issue, Chris had a another technician bring him what he needed to make sure we were safe and all was good by venting the hot water tank with the boiler. Top notch Technician to say the least as he noticed it and late on a Friday Chris and Ryan stayed to make sure we were safe! After checking everything was functioning properly they finally left at about 7pm….we did notice after programming the new thermostat that the furnace wouldn’t shut off at all when turning off the thermostat so we called and they dispatched a service technician who called us back and said she was on a call and be there ASAP, at 8:30 on a Friday night in the pouring rain Taylor arrived and this young lady found a minor issue with the thermostat and took care of it in less than 10 minutes . Thank you Chris, Ryan and Taylor!"
