Reviews of The UPS Store
"This location in Marlborough has the most friendly, helpful employees. Never a long wait and always a pleasant experience."
"I hope my review of this UPS Store will help others avoid the stressful and frustrating experience I endured. I am an art dealer and I work closely with an auction house in Marlborough. The auction house recommends three third party shippers to assist with the handling, packaging and shipping of artworks; Global Pack Ship, Pak Mail, and UPS Store #2651. I reached out to them to obtain quotes to have 3 prints and 1 sculpture shipped to me. The inquiries I sent out contained details regarding the artworks such as the dimensions and approximate weights of each to ensure that the quote I received would be accurate, because after all, I am running a business and the numbers need to make sense lol. I proceeded with UPS Store #2651 because they were able to offer the most cost efficient option. They quoted me $156 without coverage/insurance or $240 with $4,000 coverage/insurance for the handling, packing and shipping of the 3 prints and 1 sculpture. On July 8th, I was told via email that my lots were added to their pickup list and once they were packed and ready to ship, I would be contacted for my credit card info. On July 20th, the UPS Store #2651 called me to obtain payment for the shipment. Later that day, I received a tracking number via email. At this point, I am THRILLED to have my artworks back in my possession. The package began tracking a few days later and arrived on July 26th. To my complete dismay, I found that only ONE of the three prints (and no sculpture) was in the box. I was absolutely beside myself, because these are NOT inexpensive artworks and I had no idea where the other two prints and sculpture could possibly be. I immediately called the UPS Store but sadly had to leave a voicemail. After a loooooong weekend of anxiety, I still had not received any follow-up il from the UPS Store so I called again on July 31st only to be told that the manager who handled my shipment, “Mr. Patel”, was out of town and that they would not have any additional information until he was back. Thankfully he called me back the following day (August 1st) but only to share more upsetting news. He admitted that when he went to the auction house, he didn’t have his list with him so he wasn’t sure what all needed to be picked up and did not review the list before packing my print. While he gave me the illusion that he wanted to resolve this issue in hopes to continue working together, he only offered a halfhearted apology and two potential solutions that did not seem fair to me. He insisted that “the owner” would not be able to compensate me for his mistake and that I would need to either pay an additional $135 to have the remaining two prints and one sculpture shipped to me or that I could create my own shipping labels and email them to the UPS Store to have them shipped out. Mr. Patel explained that he spoke with the owner who “came up with this price with no packaging or pick up cost and providing 20% off”. Despite this “discount”, I decided to go with the latter because I could not make sense of the additional fee. If the original quote was correct when it was given to me, why would it cost me more money for the UPS Store to complete the service I requested? If I did not make the mistake, why would I need to pay to have it fixed? To make matters worse; when I went to create my own shipping labels, I found that the cost of shipping + additional coverage/insurance was only $66.36 total for the two packages - nowhere near $135. I felt duped. While the remaining artworks finally arrived safe & sound on August 17th, I will never ask this UPS Store to handle any of my future shipments."
"Been here twice, both times on a Sunday. Maybe it's because it was a Sunday but both times there was delays even for a simple thing such as an amazon return. First time, we got there after it was supposed to be open but door was locked. I waited for around 10 min and finally saw someone come into the main area. He then took our return but it took forever, kept saying it was a computer problem. I just tried today and went purposely later in the day to avoid coming there when it was suppose to be open and not having anyone there. When I got there, I saw a hand written sign that said close for 45 min but saw a bunch a customers on line waiting for service. When a customer was finished and came out the owner of the place said he was closed because he could not handle anymore customers!! Interesting way to run a business. I left and went to another UPS store 7 miles away and they were open and took 30 seconds to process my amazon return. I will never go to the first store again."
"I usually bring my packages down and its very ez to get them shipped. I have had a bunch of returns to Amazon and have never had a problem. I'd give them 5 stars, but there was a day I went down, stopped right in front of the building and ran up to the door. Just as I getting to the door the woman inside was locking it. I read the sign and I was 5 minutes late, and I wouldn't expect them to let me in. What I would expect is a wave or a smile and point to her watch, or something, but no she just turned her back on me and walked away. I also wouldn't expect them to recognize me, but just common courtesy would have been nice. Other than that they are very efficient."
"I have had many excellent experiences with the people at this store. They respond promptly to my requests to retrieve items from the local auction house, pack everything very well, and send the items promptly to my residence in New Hampshire. I have never had any problem with these transactions over many years."
