"I have tried REALLY hard to like and use this bank, but the level of professionalism and some of the frustrations have been really bonkers. I hate to give a negative review to a local credit union, but I am hoping they take the feedback. On the positive side, they do approve applications easily when you are a member with a good history. The online banking system has never worked, and so I spend hours in a maze of phone calls and password resets EVERY TIME I TRY LOGGING IN!! This causes late payments and other problems which I have no control over. I actually got a local solar install company to move over to working with them, thinking it would be a nice thing to connect two local businesses to work together. Suffice it to say that that was the first and last loan I believe they will be using Umass Five for, as the process was very challenging for all of us. Meanwhile I cant pay my loan without actually walking into the bank. I wish this was better :-( Additionally, a particular loan officer is often patronizing and rude, eschewing the responsibility the bank has to act professionally while insisting issues must be the customer's fault (when they clearly are not). It probably works ok for basic personal banking but not for business or for those who have specific or more complicated banking needs, and in my experience not usually even for the basics. It's a bummer. I will continue to use Florence Bank and Greenfield Savings, as they have proven to be both good for the local community and more functional."
