"Really good locally made fresh donuts and handpies (raspberry, apple and Bavarian cream), Should have bought more for the long road trip, but also glad I didn't buy more because I shouldn't eat them to begin with. I am told this place has staying power . . . they've been in the same location since the 90s and been in business since the 70s. I'd definitely visit when I am passing through the area again. The coffee here leaves a bit to be desired . . . it tasted like it was sitting for a while and bordering on being burnt."
"Overall horrible experience. Go to the Cookie Jar where they appreciate your business. If you stop in to buy doughnuts or pastry for MMC like I used to, you better call ahead. The man who answers the phone and waits on you will be pissed if he has to pull out more than six items to put in a box. He lectured me about calling ahead! The doughnuts and pastry are not as good as they used to be. The service is worse. I called the other day to order two-hours ahead of pick-up, like he told me to a year ago, I asked for Lemon Squares or Raspberry Squares. I heard "nope" they don't make these anymore. I asked about Cream Horns and he quickly said they do have them and I asked for a dozen. He said, we have just 10. I ordered them and then needed to ask what other type of pastry they had. I ordered six chocolate eclairs. It was like pulling teeth. He didn't offer anything... I had to ask. the pastry was old and stale. Please find another bakery.. Two Fat Cats / Cookie Jar and so many others are fabulous and want your business."
"The reviews are mixed so we only bought a glazed donut and a cinnamon bun. We ate them in the car and decided to order 6 more glazed donuts. They have a light texture and not too much glaze. No oily after taste! We went around 8:30 on a Thursday in August. There were tons of donuts and muffins. The place is no frills, but it's clear they have one mission and we think they do it well. We would definitely go again."
"My coworker is kept saying that this place was the best donuts and I got both glazed and three other kinds and they were not good at all I took a bite out of each and then threw them away. Not sure what everyone was saying why these are good. There's barely any glaze or anything on the donuts they almost tasted plain"
"The chocolate glazed donut is key. It was warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. This donut shop is no frills but has good salt-of-the-earth donuts."
