"I went to this school K-12 and had a wonderful experience. I felt fully prepared for college academics and religious discussions because I took the opportunities the school handed me. Probably my favorite part of WCS was the fact that I could be an athlete, a choir member, a member of the student council, a drama participant, a chapel planner, and a National Honor Society student, all at the same time. I felt no pressure to be condensed to being a "jock," a "popular girl," a "theater/choir kid," a "Jesus freak," or a "nerd." This is so unique for a high school especially and provides opportunities for students to explore many different aspects of their personalities and cultivate different skilled areas without feeling the pressure of choosing one or another. I have seen the school accommodate struggling students and challenge those that were needing to be challenged by offering tutors and AP classes, etc. I will be forever grateful for the teachers and the way they get to know each student on a personal academic level. They are good at reaching each willing kid where they are at and working with the parents to come up with a personal plan for success. It has been really interesting going to a Christian college and swapping stories with all of my friends that went to both public schools and Christian schools and being able to sort of "brag" about my opportunities at the schools such as the Honors Marine Biology summer course and the choir tours and field trips in addition to my experiences with my caring teachers and great class size, etc. At college I also learned that many students have never written a paper over 7 pages long, and struggle to write well. I am often complimented on my writing skills and was able to submit a 26-page research proposal paper which received the highest grade in the class, and I attribute those successes to good writing instruction and habits throughout my time at WCS. One last thing that many students lack going into college is the ability to intelligently articulate their thoughts and opinions in a debate, because either their parents or their schools only taught them one side of the story. I was very thankful for the way I was taught in my Science, Bible, and English classes to understand both sides of the story and then choose an opinion and articulate it well. Overall, I am so thankful that Christian schooling is such a value in my family and in the school community and am amazed at the sacrifices that people are willing to make to send their kids there and have loved seeing them experience those frequent "it was all worth it" moments. Though no school is perfect, this school is constantly improving, even since I graduated in 2014. I am looking forward to seeing the potential successes the school has ahead come to fruition. To God be the Glory!"
