"Had to pay $10 to park but luckily got a decent spot and only had to walk about 7 mins to the beach. It was my pup’s first time at the beach and he loved it! Lots of friendly dogs and clean area."
"GREAT beach for the puppers! Open space and perfect area to let your dog roam about! Area does not have direct parking which you will have to park at Nahant Beach and then walk over. This makes it better for dogs because people won’t bring their kids over to sit on a rocky beach. All dogs MUST be vaccinated and up on shots. Dogs can be allowed off leash HOWEVER it is the owners soul responsibility if any incidents occur. Neither the DCR or Nahant Public Association are responsible for any injuries/accidents that you or your pet may cause. Please respect this space along with others to the best of your ability."
"The beach area is great to let your pup off leash and enjoy the water. The sand area is separated from the road etc by dunes/barrier to prevent erosion which creates a great perimeter for dog safety. Be aware though that toward the end of the beach where there is rocks/house there is an alternate exit. FYI in case you have an escape artist. Not a bad walk from the parking area but it can be a little over a mile if the lot is crowded. .7 mi otherwise. On an overcast non-beach day/weekday it’s an easy destination for those who like us are not locals. This was @alformayor (IG) first beach trip and he liked it!"
"Awesome dog beach, would definitely recommend! The prior reviews about parking are misleading. There isn’t parking specific for the dog beach but there is abundant paid parking in the main beach lot. It might be a bit of a walk (up to a mile) depending on how far up the road you have to park but there is definitely parking. I’m sure it fills up on warmer days but we went at 10-11am on a Saturday in early June and the parking lot was nearly empty. Note that you can also buy a $60 annual parking pass through MA DCR and avoid the $10 one time fee."
"One of the best dog-friendly beaches I've ever encountered! It seems like only dog owners visit this beach, which is really nice. Plus I've never seen it crowded in the slightest, so there's plenty of space for running around or for quiet. The water is also really shallow which is a plus for nervous dogs that can't swim well (like mine) but not ideal for adventurous humans that would prefer real ocean waves. Parking is a serious challenge, though. Otherwise this spot is a must-visit for dog owners that want a truly pet-friendly beach visit."
