"There are many reasons to visit Nantucket. The Downtown Historic District is absolutely one of those reasons. Here is why: 1. It’s quaint and beautiful to walk through. I’m from large cities and it never gets old walking through the Historic District. Exploring small streets and looking at the historically rich buildings. You can get lost in the details of this blend of historic and contemporary. 2. If you want it shop, there is plenty for you to choose from. There is a wide spectrum of stores to choose from and there almost always are just as quaint and aesthetically pleasing spend time in. 3. There are coffee shops, restaurants, and grocers. There is not a lack of food selection in the Historic District. 4. If you are from Massachusetts you can get government services done here. For example there is a RMV. 5. The whaling museum is located right downtown and well worth a visit. Especially if you have children. Additionally, there is a roof deck area that gives you panoramic views of the town. So there you have it! This place is wonderful to explore. If you are driving yet to come early to find a spot. In the busy season it becomes difficult to get parking. Check out the photos and video to see what it’s like."
"If you like to walk, wear someone comfortable! The cobblestone and brick streets are very uneven. There is a lot of history to see including The Whaling Museum and library. Shop 'til you drop!"
"What beautiful place to visit. The brick roads and the older buildings were so cool. So many neat little shops. The views from the beach and lighthouse were awesome. Next time we come we'll be renting bikes to explore more!"
"Visited the Nantucket Holiday Celebration today complete with a visit from Santa Claus. Thousands if folks took to the streets with kids and puppies in tow to see the annual “Stroll”. A Nantucket tradition that everyone enjoys. Lots of street vendors, anything from a hot dog on up to a full meal (they were good)! Lots if pubs for the adults and activities for the kids. And a good time was had by all!!"
