"Great place for a small nature hike with kids or to try your luck fishing. Be careful of the strong currenst and keep children (and adults) out of the water. In 2022, there was a family tragedy where kids and one parent drowned."
"Although I do not socialize with many that go there .I rather find the island a beautiful place of raw nature at nature's best .the area has wonderful scenery for photographing ,nature walks without cameras, adventures of the wild for all ages with imaginations.the flowers are quite unique and at the same time the raw nature allows the people to see the danger behind the area of wild growth as nature feeds back into the Earth for natural regrowth through all seasons... I would not recommend night walking with or without a flashlight. Daytime gives a better view even when the smallest of crackling limbs begin to break and fall..."
"We took my dog here. He is a deer. It fits well. He loved it!"
"Deer Island is an awesome outdoor landscape that offers views of the Merrimack River and occasionally you will see the resident eagles."
"Great three seasons out of the year. I avoid it during the summer. Fishing hooks, rotting bait and rotting fish line the shore and some paths. People fishing should take more responsibility and respect this beautiful park. The rest of the year it is very nice for a short walk or to sit on the rocks overlooking the Merrimack. Eagles, hawks and even black squirrels can be seen here. Great place for photos, especially early mirning sunrises."
