""The Carousel for decades made Lincoln Park a fixture on the South Coast. A place where families congregated for wholesome entertainment, Lincoln Park attracted a laundry list of celebrity guests, including everyone from Eleanor Roosevelt to John F. Kennedy. But in 1991 the park floundered, and as its owner flailed for capital to keep it afloat, a group of Fall River business leaders lobbied to bring the carousel to Battleship Cove. Much as they did for the battleship Massachusetts nearly thirty years before, the community rallied around the carousel and refurbished it at a cost of $250,000. A majestic Victorian pavilion was constructed to house the attraction; nearly as lavish as the carousel itself, the splendid structure now perches over Heritage State Park, offering panoramic views of the Battleship Cove fleet." The prices are not bad and there was no line. It was a nice time."
"My son loves the carousel but we didn't try the ice cream til our third visit here. I had no idea it was Warwick ice cream! 5 stars for the coffee ice cream and the smile on my child's face as he goes round and round on the horse with beautiful views of the water and bridge. Also love that there's really convenient parking, plenty of seating and connect four to play outside"
"One of the fastest carousels my family has been on!"
"I saw past reviews and thought they were very particular about an amazing piece of obscure history that's still functioning! The location is super unique and for someone who is obsessed with carousels and amusements, we thought it was well worth a quick stop while in Fall River. We found quick parking and the building was pretty obvious with the spinning lights visible on the second floor. The elevator and restrooms were functional, and the stairs were very reminiscent of a public school, nothing scary that we saw! Sure some updates would be nice but we were so amazed to see such a beautiful carousel functioning and to see battleships out the window and a pair of swans, we'll, that seems like that experience will never be duplicated! Pro tip bring cash for the carousel and ice cream, and there's a pressed penny machine next door. What a cool place to visit on a beautiful day!"
"Good inexpensive fun for kids, but like pretty much EVERY OTHER Fall River tourist destination it appears bare and underutilized. I could see an out-of-towner assuming this place is closed or not operating. It really wouldn't take much effort to dress it up and make the inside appear more welcoming and lively. It could be so much more, but I still recommend it as a stop. The ice cream shop and souvenir pins are a nice touch."
