About the Doane's Falls Reservation
Doane's Falls Reservation is a stunning park and tourist attraction located on Doane Hill Road in Royalston, Massachusetts, United States. Descend a short stream-side trail and experience a raucous series of plunging falls as Lawrence Brook tumbles from under a picturesque stone bridge in a frothy frenzy to Tully Lake. The reservation is named after Amos Doane, who owned land in Royalston in the early 19th century and built a mill above the falls. The riverbank is a sensitive ecosystem, so please stay on marked trails to protect the plants and soil. Swimming, diving, and wading are prohibited due to safety concerns.
A half-mile trail offers great views of Lawrence Brook as it drops and swirls over boulders and granite slabs. Coddings Meadow, a quiet clearing upstream, is a perfect launch site for canoeists and kayakers. The Trustees also manages the Tully Lake Campground nearby. Access the reservation from Route 2, Exit 77, and follow the signs to the parking area.
Hunting is permitted on the Coddings Meadow parcel, and dogs are allowed on-leash. The Trustees Hiking Challenge encourages visitors to explore the many trails and features of their properties. Protecting and caring for Massachusetts' special places is a priority for The Trustees, and your support helps ensure a healthy future for our communities. Enjoy a camping adventure in the beautiful North Quabbin Region and discover the natural beauty of Doane's Falls Reservation.

Reviews of Doane's Falls Reservation
"Really cool waterfall location. Upper and middle falls are pretty close together and easy to hike to. It started raining so had to cut the hike short."
"Nice, relatively easy hike. It's a short hike, but a little steep as it does ascend alongside the brook that creates the falls. You can go farther, after you get to the top of the falls, where it apparently is pretty flat and goes through a meadow, but we turned back as it was starting to thunder pretty ominously and we were expecting storms."
"Very beautiful and peaceful hike. Just be careful and keep a close eye if you have young ones with you. Just use caution and good judgement on how close to get to the edge overlooking the river. I also wish there were more than a handful of parking spots"
