"It was so peaceful there. I was the only one there. I was able to walk my dog, sit on the many benches and see the beautiful view of the water. Also if you walk around 4 times it's just around a mile walk."
"Wonderful for a wheelchair user. Some steepish places. The path is firm and smooth. Overall calm and peaceful. Informative signs (did not notice braille, but I forgot to look for it.) Handicapped parking. No rest rooms, but there are businesses nearby."
"Very well done loop trail that could be used by someone in a wheel chair or using a walker. There are well placed benches and resting spots. There are slopes but they are gradual. Beautiful forest and open pond at the end!"
"Great little walk in beautiful scenery! Also it's all wheelchair accessible, an awesome feature"
"This place is wonderful! Do slow down on Route 63 when your GPS says you are a quarter mile away, because the sign is quite small and hard to see. The trail is wheelchair-accessible, being made of a gray black pressed gravel that is easier on the knees and feet then pavement or concrete. I'm not sure how hard it would be to push one's own wheelchair along this path. There are wonderful signs along the path that explain not only the Natural History, but also some history and culture of the indigenous peoples, and not just from the white person's point of view. There are benches interspersed along the way, as well as one viewing platform. I'm not sure how long the path is, but I would say it is certainly less than a mile for the entire loop. If you are looking for a way to be in the woods in the Northfield, Massachusetts area, especially if you have physical challenges in walking or are going with someone who does, this is a wonderful place to go! So grateful to the volunteers and financial contributors around Northfield who made this happen. It's also nice that this trail is named in honor of a veteran, Gunnery Sergeant Jeffrey S. Ames!"
