Reviews of Cheshire Harbor Trailhead
"Trail started off wide and you could feel the incline while walking. VERY MUDDY in a lot of areas, def wear hiking boots. Many people wear sneakers and their shoes were covered with mud! It was very nice to see park rangers at different points on the trail. We went when there was some kind of "Ramble" event, still not sure what that meant? When we got to summit, it was Very cold, we only spent 10mins because our hike started at 1pm, got to summit at 3:15 and started to hike down at 3:25pm got to car lot at 6pm. It took longer then 3.45hrs to complete due to the muddy terrain. Nice trail, would recommend, just check the weather before you go, if it rained the day or 2 before you go, best to drive up!! Parked end of West Mountain Road, in a grassy lot--Great!! Hiked on 10/9/23"
"We just finished the trail going up and I would consider it an easy trail given that it has a 2000ft elevating gain over 3.2 miles. The grade is very gradual and the trail is nice to walk on. The picture is from the lodge at the top."
"It is an out and back trail. With a total of around 7 miles. Most of the trail is ascending. The trail is moderate to difficult. When we began the hike it was pouring rain. But it turned to a drizzle at the end of the gravel road where the trail begins. Took nearly 5 1/2 hours to complete. At the top of the summit you can find washrooms. And Bascom lodge. The tower has great views."
"Excellent option for a day hike to the summit of Mt. Greylock! As of 4/13/17 the trail was initially muddy and got very icy towards the top of the mountain. The views at the summit are the perfect reward after climbing the final .75 miles of the trail on the AT."
