In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the department has adapted by holding Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings online. Additionally, Mayor Michelle Wu and the department recently announced the reopening of the beloved Boston Swan Boats for the 2024 season at the Boston Public Garden lagoon.
With a network of nine parks connected by parkways and waterways spanning 1,100 acres, Charlestown Naval Shipyard Park Playground & Waterpark offers a diverse range of recreational opportunities for all ages.
