Reviews of The Cascade
"Great experience. The trail is a bit rough at about 3/4 of the way to the fall. When you think the trail ends cross the river using stepping stones "at your own risk" and keep to the right and it will continue. Arrive early to be able to leave before sunset."
"Just want to start by saying that I’m sort of high maintenance and my boyfriend and I don’t hike that often. Most of the time we’ll go on long nature park walks that are flat. Crossing the river halfway through this hike was definitely a struggle. I needed to hold my boyfriend’s hand for parts of it. He said that once you need help from another person it should automatically be rated hard but I disagree, I’d rate this hike a medium hardness. As a young fit man, he thought he was fine and easy enough."
"A lot of descriptions say this trail is easy, so we attempted to bring the grandparents here. Don't do it. A chunk of the trail is washed out, you have to walk on the riverbed on unstable rocks to get there. It's easy for anyone sure footed. They had to turn around halfway and were disappointed to not see the cascades. Also, you cannot park at the trailhead. Just don't try. There is a little path from the YMCA parking lot.. looks farther on the map but it isn't really."
"Gorgeous and generally easy hike, with a wonderful reward at the end! There are blue markers to help guide you from the parking lot (at the Elementary School, not so much at the YMCA), but strangely no blue markers once in the woods. The trail is generally easy to follow, except for one section immediately adjacent to the water where you need to hug the rocks or climb up a bit then return down. Basically if you see trail ahead, keep going! The falls are a beautiful sight and worth the walk."
"Quick little hike with a beautiful pay off at the end. You have to park in the Y parking lot and walk 0.3 miles to the trail head. Only 0.7 miles once you get to the trail head. The gorge itself is pretty amazing and then the waterfall in the middle makes it that much prettier."
