Reviews of Maternity Center at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus
"I just spent 3 hours and 29 minutes in the emergency room and NOBODY came in to check on me. I came into the hospital because I am wheezing and nobody came in to the room to check on me. They did not check my vitals or anything. The nurse came in talked to me then...NOTHING. He said someone would show up. If you want service and a team that will actually keep you in the loop, go to St. Vincent or any other reputable hospital that will actually take care of your needs."
"Every staff member went above and beyond. So satisfied with our experience!"
"The best team of Nurses and Dr’s even down to reception. Everyone cares listens and literally wants to help and make you as comfortable as possible. Thankful this is where I deliver my children."
"I just had my baby here at UMass memorial and I could not be more satisfied with my experience. I’m a first time mom and obviously never gone through labor and birth before. I had some complications with my laboring experience and the nurses and staff were so amazing. They listened to me and gave me as much info as they could. During my experience they were externally busy and almost all rooms were full. This being said, I went in when I thought I was in true active labor to find out I was only 1cm. They offered to have me stay and take care of me due to the pain I was experiencing. They wanted me to be comfortable and I was very appreciative of that. They respected my wishes of an all female staff as well. I ended up going home to labor a bit more in the comfort of my home and returned later that evening due to increased pain. They saw me right away and got me checked into a labor room within 5 minutes. The nurses and doctor in triage were so kind and sympathetic to my situation. Once in labor and deliver I had a new set of doctors and nurses and I honestly love them because they helped me through a very difficult labor and delivery. It was scary for me and my husband to go through what we did but I constantly had the support of the entire staff. They always listened to my request and made sure to follow my birth plan as much as we could. It was so comforting to have such kind people around me to help in such a vulnerable and intimate experience. After my baby was born we were moved to postpartum and again, I had absolutely wonderful staff. I was there for three days and two nights as my baby was born in the wee hours of the morning. I saw many different nurses and three doctors and I wish I could explain the level of comfort that I felt while recovering from a pretty traumatic birth. They were attentive to my health and comfort as well as my baby. From the housekeeping to the head nurses and doctors, they were all amazing. I wish I could find the right words to express my appreciation for them all because I feel like my (long) explanation does No justice for them. You could tell that they loved their job. I will absolutely come back here for my future labor and deliveries and encourage other to as well. I traveled 45 minutes to be able to deliver as this hospital and I wouldn’t change a thing."
