Reviews of Waltham Athletic Club
"The membership is monthly basis and reasonably priced. Registration process was easy and quick just by providing some required personal info and payment method. Membership includes all the facilities including fitness, pool and tennis courts. Joined the membership mainly for tennis and fitness. Tennis programs cover activities from instructional classes to groups of round robin matches. There are 7 hard courts total: six plus a court dedicated for singles. After registration at the front desk, a link was sent to my email address to login their online account. The online system is easy to navigate court availabilities and activity registrations. Members can make reservations for courts and activities 6 days in advance. Today, i played at court 4 and felt that ball bounce was a bit out of tune. Plenty parkings are available by the club. Just be aware there is a bar that's confusing with the entrance on the driveway to the club parking lot. The entrance was a bit hidden by the buildings around. But don't worry people at the bar will kindly let you know the club entrance if you look geared with tennis."
"I registered here to play tennis and there is almost always issues with different things. When I registered, the associate made me wait an hour just to tell me that I need to call during the week because he doesn’t know how to sign me up. I had to call multiple times because they didn’t answer the phone. I always have problems signing up online because of issues with their website. So I have to call them 6 days before but they don’t answer the phone and when they do answer, they sometimes say the tennis camp is full. One time, I drove 30 min for a tennis class on Monday night and there was a handwritten note on the door that “club is closed due to weather”. Me and one other women who was there for tennis were confused because it was almost 60 degree F, no snow, no ice, no rain, no fog, just normal weather. We were also confused because no one from the club called or emailed or texted us about the unexpected closure. So I had to drive 30 min back and frustrated that I wasted 1 hour of my life that I will never get back. There is no respect at this club."
"It became unbearable! I was a member since 2019. The gym was outdated but the convenience of being 3 min walk from my home got me. No maintenance at all at the gym! Old rusty equipment ruined a cople of sneakers and work out gloves. Staff is rude and don't care about you at all. Sauna has been closed since COVID. Lockers are dirty, mirror have never been cleaned. Actually, cleaning is a major issue over there. The last straw was the AC. It's bad, really bad! They simply won't turn it on! 100°F in the workout area no ac and only a couple of fans on - which some members will turn the off."
"I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Waltham Athletic Club and was thoroughly impressed with their indoor tennis facilities and programs. This club caters to both adults and children, making it an ideal destination for families and tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels. One of the standout features of the Waltham Athletic Club is the range of tennis programs they offer. From beginners to advanced players, there is something for everyone. The club's experienced and professional coaches ensure that each participant receives personalized attention and guidance to help them improve their game. The club's emphasis on developing and nurturing young talent is commendable. The kids' programs are designed to be both fun and educational, providing a strong foundation for a lifelong love of tennis. This focus on youth development sets the Waltham Athletic Club apart from other sports facilities in the area. Additionally, the indoor tennis courts at the Waltham Athletic Club are well-maintained and equipped with modern amenities. The climate-controlled environment allows for comfortable play all year round, making it an ideal location for those looking to practice and compete in any season. In conclusion, the Waltham Athletic Club is a premier destination for tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. With its exceptional indoor facilities, variety of programs, and commitment to fostering talent, this club is a valuable asset to the local community. I highly recommend the Waltham Athletic Club to anyone looking to hone their tennis skills or simply enjoy a fun and healthy activity."
"I’m only giving this facility one star because I have to. This place a dump. The management is horrible, you can never reserve a tennis court unless you stay up until midnight. The people who run the front desk, are rude to the customers and over charge the customers. They say they have six courts but one court has a slant running through it, so they really only 5 good courts. When you question them about a bill, they never want to take the time and help you resolve it. The price might be good but it’s not worth it. They keep your credit card on file even when you ask them to delete it and the continue to charge you for no reason. This place should be shut down.It hasn’t been updated in decades and it shows. Not only with the decor, but the machines, and the upkeep of the tennis courts."
