"I had an appointment for hair and makeup, but when I left it looked as though I had nothing done at all. No eye liner, blush, lip liner, conturing or hair done properly for a formal wedding. The eyelashes looked okay but the right eye lash kept coming loose during the wedding. Since it was a night wedding I wanted eye makeup but had to apply it myself along with face makeup and a little blush. Also inquire about prices. Just a little makeup and a few bobby pins in my hair cost more than when I get a full spa day including hair color, highlights, toner, hair cut , make-up , false lashes, etc. Nice people extremely high priced. $250.00 plus tax and a tip. I've had my hair and make-up done for weddings before but was always happy with the outcome and the price. This was very high priced for a 35 minute job"

"We had Brittanie and Mackenzie do hair and makeup for our wedding, and they did an amazing job! Both girls are so friendly and talented, and we thoroughly enjoyed having them in our suite while we got ready. They are true professionals, showing up early and being able to set up in a small space to make us all feel comfortable. Everyone felt beautiful with their hair and makeup done, and I would definitely recommend them to any Maine brides!"

"Salon Loka did hair and make up for my wedding - 4 bridesmaids, me, my mom, and mother in law. Very friendly & easy to work with stylists. They did a great job on make up for everyone. I loved mine! Super natural and exactly what I asked for. Hair was good too, except I didn't feel my hair was 100% the same as we did in the two trials I had. It took several attempts on the morning of the wedding, and the braid didn't flow into my bun how I wanted it. We got it almost right but there was not enough time to keep re-doing and make it perfect. I also felt there was too much product making my hair look a little greasy at times but overall the hair styling was OK. It did stay in place all day and looked good in most of the photos. Communication prior to the wedding was difficult - trying to establish timing, setting up a second trial, trying to get an payment estimate, and pre-pay were all made more difficult by slow communication and lack of reply for weeks at times (I had to call and ask if e-mails were received). Almost all the wedding communication is done via e-mail with the owner, and she is often not in the salon when you call. I completely understand that they're busy with other weddings, but acknowledgement of some kind would have made me feel a lot better. Overall it was a solid 3/5 .. I may consider another salon if I were to go back in time."
