Reviews of The Pool Pirate
"The absolute best place for your pool needs. They are always professional and helpful carrying heavy items out to your car for you. They are able to answer all questions and have been amazing delivering water and assisting opening our pool! They have everything you could possibly need for your pool and then some! We also always get our propane tanks filled at The Pool Pirate!"
"They are knowledgeable and the husband is very friendly so it’s hard to leave this review. Unfortunately, that is where the good stops. We paid them to professional close our pool last fall. They sent their kids to do it and it was sloppily done. We needed a water delivery because we lost a ton of water over the winter. The fee is $450 per delivery no matter how much water you need. I voiced my concern in the store that one water delivery would not be enough because we did not want to pay for a second delivery. The owner assured me that 9,000 on the truck would be enough for one delivery. Well they came and we needed 10,000 gallons. So we scheduled them to come back because we have well water and cannot run the hose for long without losing water in the entire house. They came out at 5pm clearly after someone’s water delivery and added the 1,000 we need. My husband talked to the owner and he did not leave an invoice so we thought they were doing it complimentary because of the situation and they already had the truck out on the road (they had told us prior the $450 is to rent the truck, not for the water.) So we were very grateful for that! Then the wife Linda (who has a customer service skill level of Oscar the Grouch) called and told us that we owed for the water delivery. When I pushed back she took off $100 dollars but still charged us for $350. Plus the prior $450 we just paid so that is $800 total! Needless to say we now use another pool store and they have been absolutely fantastic, helpful, and honest."
"What do you do when your pool pump dies in 95 degree weather? You pay double at Pool Pirate what you'd pay for the exact same pump on Amazon and other pool supply stores. Then you get home and find it needs an adapter plug, which they neglected to tell you. Back to Pool Pirate for a second time. Get home, plug it in with the adapter and the pump doesn't work. Trip #3 and they determined it was a bad pump. They had no choice but to replace it. I try to buy local and give fair and honest reviews but I also know that in this weather, prices tend to soar according to the need. I guess they knew our need was great."
"They called the morning of water delivery to say they couldn’t deliver. They pulled up a pic of our road the morning of delivery not the 5 days prior. I wanted to support local business. Poor business practice. They couldn’t back up their 18 wheeler up our road. They didn’t have anyone to spot them the 1/3 of a Mile ,but we had a semi truck bank up our road when we moved in to our house. Never going there again for anything !"
"Kevin and Linda are very knowledgeable and friendly. We purchased our above ground pool from them a few years ago. Best price around and gave us a truck load of free water with the purchase of the pool. The installers were also great. We continue to use them every year for our pool supplies."
