"Had a surprise night out at Flat Top Johnny's, we'd been looking for a new pool hall and had a blast. Food was good enough and better than expected, recommend the steak and cheese mess!"

"There’s definitely something “flat” about Flat Top Johnny’s and it is the service… I really wanted to love this restaurant as we just moved to the area and the look and design of the restaurant is amazing! I thought this would be our new spot to frequent. However, we were faced with rude employees and abysmal food and drink. It seems that management spent all the effort on the amazing look of the restaurant, and not the feel. Very unfortunate."

"This establishment is clearly owned and operated by someone who does not understand the meaning of "high quality" food and service. I am extremely disappointed by the nonchalant behavior exhibited by the staff here when they are approached about errors and missing items... Treat your patrons like they matter. Train your staff well. Do not expect happy, satisfied customers when your business model is severely lacking in a mutitude of ways... Maybe if I had been given a discount of some sort I'd feel somewhat better... But we all know paying customers aren't always entitled to discounts, regardless of the circumstance, which I am more than able to accept... I just would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who I truly wanted to have a good experience."

"Nice selection of pinball machines, but they charge more to play them than other local pinball parlors. And expert players tie up the machines here, which is something I haven't seen at other local pinball spots. I recommend going to Pop's Pinball and Bit Bar instead."

"Flat Top Part 3: The Return. This was one of the best dives in town 5-10 years ago if you were living anywhere near MIT campus. They were sadly lost to COVID but have now returned to a new location on MIT campus just a few steps from the Kendall square subway. Opening night was pretty crammed and chaotic (didn't get to use the tables, orders got put on the wrong cards, lost veggie burgers) but that was what we expected with a brand new space filled to the brim with a rowdy crowd."
