Reviews of Bass Rocks Golf Club
"Great course on the small island...play it if you can."
"We joined Bass Rocks last year as a social member. We have had the opportunity to enjoy the food, beverages, events, view and service through the years, thanks to my son who is a junior member! The course is a beautiful one and it’s so nice to sit on the deck or Adirondack chairs and watch the golfers. Food choices are many (such a nice variety of apps, salads, sandwiches, and entrees), plus they also offer specials too! Both the waitstaff and bartenders are great, they want to be sure you have an enjoyable time. The location is picturesque, has a nice casual setting and at the same time can convert into a more formal setting. Have enjoyed lunch and dinner and I’ll be taking time out to use the deck again as my remote office! Peter Hood is a fantastic general manager, he and his team take great care of you, stopping by to say hi and simply checking in. They keep you well informed with their weekly erocks newsletter and regular updates. There’s always something happening and we can’t always take advantage. Last night we were able to invite some friends to enjoy the Bass Rocks experience and Cape Ann Big Band. Love that it was a beautiful summer night with a little chill in the air, background music and delicious appetizers. Later we gathered in the dining room where we enjoyed a plated salad, chicken dinner and strawberry shortcake. We saw so many people that we don’t necessarily run into, it was really nice. Wanted to share a big shout out to Paul and the Goodman Hospitality team who do an amazing job every day and night and last night it was incredible to see magic happen in a different way! I’m thinking they were between 150 and 200 people there, everything was flawless and delicious! The servers were literally running the food out and then took the time to come back several times to check and be sure we were doing great. I also want to thank the bar staff for their quick service AND making my special drink, apologize as I did not realize there was a special drink menu! From the initial inquiry, Laura the Event Manager was quick and responsive with all the back-and-forth’s - super patient too as our friends made up their minds! we can only imagine how wonderful she also is planning personal events! Most people already know what a hidden gem Bass Rocks truly is, I’m just giving an extra shout out and drawing attention to the superior customer service, food and beverage you consistently provide especially given the challenges of today in staffing up and providing BEST in CLASS Service. Keep doing a great job, and thank you for all you do!"
"Extremely inconsiderate of all the neighbors. You all start mowing lawns on Saturday at 5 am and wake up the entire neighborhood. None of us appreciate this and you might want to organize a better time to clean your golf course which doesn’t involve waking up everyone."
"Beautiful landscape. Been coming here since I was a kid, family has a house on beach rd. The club is well laid out and the staff is nice. The food is alright but that is not why you're really there. Only 5 mins walk from Good Harbour Beach!"
