"My first yoga hot class was this morning - the place, atmosphere, instructor (Mary Beth), work out and sweat were all amazing. Thank you"
"One of the best hot yoga places in the Newport area. Great teachers, so much space to move, true intention to the spiritual values of yoga, super hot and humid room - highly recommend."
"I was just recently cleared by my doctor to exercise again after a back injury. Before my injury I had been to this studio several times and was happy with the classes and location. I am so grateful the Newport Power Yoga is open and operating at this time, there are very few exercise options in RI right now and I do not have the discipline to practice at home. After the past year it feels so good to have a little normalcy, by the end of the sessions I often forget that we are even experiencing a "pandemic". Terry has done a great job following protocol for those of you concerned with COVID and the teachers and he are giving this community some much needed levity, support and relief. Thank you Newport Power Yoga!"
"While visiting Newport, I went to the $5 community classes Tuesday - Thursday so I can’t speak for the regular classes. Some of these classes are advertised as ‘All Levels’ but you need to have a more than just a basic understanding of yoga to know what poses to go into or you will be left in the dust trying to follow the class. Luckily, I could keep up but it also didn’t help that the teachers are mainly there to direct your flow and they hardly bothered to demonstrate a pose unless more than half were unfamiliar with the Sanskrit name. Also, these classes are HEATED! Please do yourself a favor and bring a towel because you will be dripping in an ocean of your own sweat regardless by the end of class. They also offer towels but they aren’t for free; however, they do provide stability blocks during practice free of charge. Overall, it was good to see a different teaching style of yoga than what I’m used to and it was a great workout. However, it’s misleading to say it’s for all levels (I would say I’m at a moderate level and these classes are for moderate to advanced) and I would disclose that these classes are heated. I did enjoy that the price was the same for everyone instead of an outrageous $15 or so for dropping in on the classes. Because of how inexpensive these community classes are, they fill up quickly and it can also get pretty crammed in their studio so get there early (10 min or so) before class to get a spot."
