"My daughter just finished her first year at NC’s and I could not have had a better experience. This is a top notch studio that operates in such an organized manner. I was so impressed!! My daughter loved her first year and had the most incredible time at her first recital. The dancers are so talented and the teachers and Nancy so thorough and attentive to all the details. It makes such a difference! The recital was a production a true experience and my entire family had so much fun. Keep up the amazing work! We can’t wait to return this fall :)"
"My daughters started at Nancy Chippendale's Dance Studios in 2006. She loves the studio and has had the opportunity to dance up and down the East Coast and has traveled to Germany to compete internationally. She loves the studio and it's become a second home to her. In addition to dance, she's learned self discipline, time management, leadership skills, showmanship, good sportsmanship, teamwork, conflict resolution, as well has how to be a graceful winner and how cope with defeat. The studio has been family owned and run for 40 years and I've found them to be nothing less than professional for the 13 years my daughter has danced there. They encourage dancers to work hard in order to see all that hard work and training pay off. To get a true sense of what the studio is like there's recently been a full length documentary made, "The Nancy Chippendale Story", which can be viewed on YouTube."
"We are so thrilled with the experiences that both of our daughters have had here. Our oldest is very shy and our youngest is VERY vibrant. Baby Steps was such gentle and fun introduction to dance, my youngest was always smiling and (more importantly) so was the teacher! Each teacher we have had has quickly become the new “favorite” and both daughters are always thrilled to enter the building. We see a beautiful confidence developing during class and are loving the added bonus of friendships with some of the sweetest dance mates! We feel so lucky that the girls are surrounded by the joy that is on every face in the Chippendale building...especially the proud and magical owners!"
"My Daughter attends this studio and has been one of the best things we have done. They develop self motivation, team work and responsibility. Better still are the friendships that will last forever lending to very powerful women heading into college with huge potential and self esteem. I understand why they say, Once a Chip, Always a Chip."
"My daughter attended Nancy Chippendales for 1 year, and will not be returning. While the senior level dancers within the company are excellent, and put on beautiful shows in their recital, there are too many negatives that tip the scales. My chief complaints: * Parents are not allowed to watch rehearsals, with the exception of 5 minutes per month. No windows to studio rooms, and no projection on a TV, like many other studios. * Miscellaneous expenses related to the recital (costumes, tickets, purchase of extra shoes--to spray paint them--which renders them almost unusable for the future) * Parents are not allowed to watch the dress rehearsal for recital, but must sit in a dressing room to be on hand to change their kids costumes in between acts. * Parents are not allowed to photograph their children during rehearsals, dress rehearsals or recitals. * Other studios allow photography during events--just not flash photography. When i pointed this out, the studio director informed me that I must not have attended professional recitals in the past (I have), and assured me that their rules were not unique. * The studio director I spoke with was NOT open to feedback, and lectured me that I was the only parent to have these concerns, and that they had been in business for more than 35 years, so clearly they are doing something right. * What the studio director may not have known is that ALMOST NO ONE from my daughter's class will return next year. LOTS of moms expressed similar concerns while we were all sitting in the dressing room during the recital rehearsals."
