"We absolutely love this shop... enough so we planned a whole vacation around it. Over 40 different kinds of fudge and more candy than you can imagine. The unique selections make it impossible to go just one time. Highly recommend stopping in and testing EVERYTHING. Clean and welcoming atmosphere and friendly helpful staff."
"I would give 0 stars not to the staff or selection, but to the woman owner! This woman is not simply rude but outright certifiable. She is infuriated by the fact that I spend about $20 a day in her shop! I have been going to sweet Josie’s for years, for the fudge, which is excellent. It is made from a mix from Calico Cottage. So she can take very little credit on that count. This type fudge is by far my favorite which is why I haven’t been going elsewhere. However I finally found a place that uses Calico cottage, to make their fudge. So I will not be returning to sweet Josie’s. This summer alone I have spent $450 on fudge in her shop. Over the course of two trips to York.(yes this is a weird habit, but I am in the fitness field, and am very strict the rest of the year. Very few vises, and like to go all out. I do the same thing when I visit the Delaware beaches) She accused me of stalking her, and told her employees that I was in love with her. which got back to me. Who does that to costumers? This is laughable, what is to be in love with anyway? Her winning personality? When I enter the shop, I have always been overly polite , as well as quick to leave, sensing her hostility. She also seems to hate kids, chases them and yells at them. As well, she has tried to bully other businesses. She is infamous. If you want a story to tell for the rest of your life, go here. If you want to be treated like a human being. Go elsewhere. The Candy Corner, the Kittery Trading Post, or the Goldenrod would be my suggestion. I hope she finds a life free of the anger and aggression she has. The compost she has dumped will be turned into beautiful flowers. No mud no lotus"
"Our favorite candy store to visit in York, Maine every summer!! Candy for kids, and sooo many of flavors of fudge!! After telling her we came back for their specific unicorn fudge, she gave it to us for free with my purchase. My 5 yr old daughter was excited and felt so special. Love that they support their frequent *fudge* flyers! :)"
"My family and I are on vacation for the weekend. We stopped in Sweet Josie’s to get some treats. It was clean and welcoming. The staff was so nice and she felt like extended family. She was able to share the process about how they make the fudge and was overall super helpful. As we were leaving she was rushed with a large group and handled it so eloquently. I will definitely stop back in before we leave for some more treats to bring back home! Must stop in if you are in the area! We had such a fun and wonderful experience!"
"This place is a jewel. My kids love it and certainly myself! A lot of treats to buy from fudge, baked cookies and candies. We enjoyed the shaved ice; worth the waiting!"
