Reviews
"Didn't plan on it, but was able to do advanced birthday and Christmas shopping. It is so enjoyable to find items that were one of a kind. Your group presenters were extremely knowledgeable, thank you for making our Providence military reunion one to remember."
"Such a fun experience. Lots of oral histories to listen to and things to touch for kids. We visited a special event with really cool lobstermen and live lobsters. Very friendly staff."
"A lot of good information on the fishing industry... Maybe glossing over the impact of dredging the ocean floor for scallops. I would have given five stars of not for the fact that the women of the industry are relegated to the back room. They should be integrated into the rest of the museum."
"Very educational. There new exhibit is wonderful! The listening stations are great. You really get to learn first hand what it is like to be a commercial fisherman. It is well worth spending time and listening to all the stories and watching the short video."
"I volunteer here. It is a great place to learn about the Commercial Fishing community. The volunteers have a good knowledge of the industry and are always willing to help. The Center/Museum also has nautical craft classes, concerts, speakers and also has educational classes for New Bedford school kids. I would highly recommend a visit to their website to see what is coming up."
