The Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute (OECI) located in Narragansett, Rhode Island, is dedicated to exploring, mapping, and characterizing the vast ocean territory within the nation's Exclusive Economic Zone. Through the development and implementation of new technologies, the OECI aims to engage future generations of ocean scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.

With three billion acres of submerged territory to be explored, the OECI's mission is crucial in strengthening the Blue Economy, promoting responsible management, and enhancing scientific understanding of our oceans. The institute will utilize groundbreaking technology, including autonomous vehicle systems, to explore the entire water column from various sea-going platforms.
