Reviews of South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School
"I have been enrolled in the school for a while now. I would have to say, the guidance department is pretty good. The administration department lacks "logic". Recently, students have gotten multiple hours from the dean of students. This is due to "off limits", Now I am all for rules and enforcement but the fact is that "off limits" is a generalization that is strictly interpreted by the dean of students. Due to anonymity, I will not provide names of any teacher but will say there job title/position. One of the math teachers, treats multiple kids as if they were 5 years old. I almost feel as if our valuable tax payers are paying there hard earned money so there kids can go to school, learn a trade, and be certified in that trade for no good reason. Administration seems to not have anything better to do or "fish to fry" than walk around the hallways of SSVT and handing out hour after hour to the same students who are specially targeted. Once you commit one offense, does not matter what year you are in, you are on what students call 'The list" this list consist of names that teachers have along with administration among others, teachers look out for the students. Although it has not been proven that said list exist, there is high suspicion. There are some great things about SSVT, leaving at the end of the day is nice, the shop teachers are nice. But the administration is very lacking in logic when they are getting rid of the autobody program when they just spent over 80,000 dollars on a new paint booth and much more to install it and now they are just going to throw it away?"

"I would not recommend this school to anyone looking to try a trade. The shop teachers and co-op directors are some of the best people I've met and they really care about the students. The academic teachers can be hit or miss but for the most part they're not too bad. The worst part I'd have to say is the administration. You have two vice principals and a dean of students who when given power let's it go right to her head. They're more concerned about students parking on dirt and people wearing hats. They address no real issues such as finding aids for missing teachers kids being bullied students smoking in the bathrooms and other administrators threatening students with hard manual labor. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone try to get into another school."
"Great school, my son is a second generation student there. A quality education vs public school. HIGHLY RECOMMEND."
"Best thing we ever did was have our son attend SSVT. He has great friends and all teachers & staff are wonderful. He has gotten a great education and is a senior now."
