"My review is mainly for Mr. DelPorto. My son has moved onto the High School where leadership pales greatly in comparison. Mr. D's leadership skills and ability to see and treat each child as an individual is stellar. Kids are young when they go to Middle School and knowing that Mr. D was at the helm made me feel confident leaving my son there every day. My son said to me when he was going to High School, "I wish Mr. Delporto was coming up there too." From the mouths of babes, they could sure use a Delporto clone up there. I wouldn't want to take him away from the younger kids. Thank you Watertown Middle School!!!"

Though not an affluent school by the standards of some neighboring towns, it is a school that invests in the right things: invested educators, activity options to ensure well-rounded students, and transitioning to online learning. We have been very impressed by the support that our daughter gets both in mainstream classroom environments and in special education coursework. We have been encouraged by the consistent messaging the school reinforces through a variety of channels about what characterizes a successful student at WMS (S.O.A.R.S. - success, ownership, achievement, respect, and service). Most of all we have been grateful for the authentically invested staff that our daughter has had the opportunity to interact with.
