Reviews of UP Academy Holland
"As a very protective parent and moving to the US from a small island where everybody knows everybody and everybody is family. Of course I was very apprehensive of all public schools in America after doing my research. America is so different in had to register my son for school and they made a choice of school based on zip code unless I was rich would have a choice and afford a private school. I prayed that Good would get him into a good school and at first he was selected into one school then within a day another school contacted me and that school was UAH and he started in Grade 3 and his teacher Miss Batista was a darling. Very caring teacher. His new teacher Mr Leslie is good as well, a grade 4 teacher while he is strict which I don't mind, he too cares about this students. He respects them and my son has the out most respect for him. The bottom line is my son has been very happy attending this school and is always eager to go to school. Does not want to miss a day and that says a lot. The other teachers in hear about and have had interactions with Miss Santana and Miss Rosario they are pretty easy going and great teachers. Thank you UAH for peace of mind. All the best and wishing you success in all your future endeavors."
"I go to this school in fith grade yes our school has problems but so do many others schools no they dont drag kids they hold their hand so they wouldnt do anything else under school behavior yes i also get into arguments with the teachers sometimes the students are wrong and sometimes were right but these teacher try their best and work hard to provide us, no their not our relatives their working because you put your trust on them to watch your child, take care of them, and educate them so no not all the comments on this school are true anyway the whole point is this school is a safe place and not a dead zone like everyone calls it."
"To be honest I was here since K1 and graduated in 5th grade I really liked this school although sometimes the teachers are strict but I'm happy at the very last day learning here I got really good grades I just hope the teachers don't scare off some of the students because of their strictness thank you too all the teachers who taught me here"
"This school apparently are okay with kids putting their hands on eachother. They do NOT do anything when it comes to bullying. They are currently allowing the boys who assaulted my niece get away with their actions! The assault occurred on their premise during dismissal. They are trying to rule it as “horse playing” and “self defense.” During a conference to discuss the issue, the other 2 parents were speaking their foreign language to the Dean of Discipline and the Dean didn’t even translate what the women were saying. That is completely unprofessional and bias. On top of that, it is very unprofessional of the Principal to NOT attend the meeting or even reaching out to my sister about the issue. As a result, the boys only got suspended and the school thought that suspension should be enough. How is 2 boys against 1 girl fair? How is that self defense when they put their hands on her FIRST?! I guess it’s nobodys problem if it’s not their kids right? #BPS #BostonPublicSchools"
"The school is ok, but they only worried about what the student's are wearing.. I really looking for another school for my girls. If only they would of let the old teacher's stay there. I, myself went to that school (JOHN P. HOLLAND)school. When it was way better than now. The teacher's are rude and they drag your kids on the floor. Not mines but i have seen it done. When i ask why they are doing that, they tell me that the child don't wanna listen..so the hell with this school.. If my child ever come and tell someone snatch her by her arm or whatever..... They will see!!!!!!#"
