"Six months ago, DSM hired Steve Marchena, a 35 year professional musician, Berklee Grad, with over 35 album credits to his name, and who toured Europe and North America sharing his talent. His talents include the way he teaches Guitar and for me the Mandolin. His enthusiasm and teaching ability for me, understanding what my needs are at this stage in my life (old) has made learning and practice a BLAST! I have a handful of instructors over the many years, but I have learned more with Steve Marchena as my instructor in the last six months, that I had in my 65 years playing the same old stuff. Classical, Rock, Gypsy Jazz and Delta Blues and for me BLUEGRASS…. Need help, don’t we all! How about you? Don’t Forget the BlueGrass Jams are back in September. "I've been a student at Dedham School of Music for 5 years and have taken lessons for fiddle, piano, and electric guitar. All the teachers are really nice and great at what they do. I started as a complete beginner on the piano and electric guitar, and thanks to Linnea and Aaron's instruction I am now playing songs like Beethoven's "Sonata No. 1 in F Minor" and "Just What I Needed" by the Cars. My teachers have helped fuel my love of music, so much so that I plan to pursue music in college."
