"Ms. Leehey is an amazing clarinet teacher. I started taking lessons from her in March, 2020 and am very disappointed that I will have to stop this fall when I go away to college. It is continually astonishing to me how much I learn in just one one-hour lesson, and her teaching has led to my acceptance to multiple regional music festivals throughout high school. Ms. Leehey is also a genuinely kind person who is interested in the well-being and success of her students outside of music. I am grateful for how Ms. Leehey has solidified my love for the instrument and shown me how clarinet can always be a part of my life even when I am unable to make it my first priority. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn clarinet from Ms. Leehey and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a clarinet teacher."
"Mrs. Leehey is a terrific clarinetist, leader, and role model for all. I have studied with Mrs. Leehey for about three years now and I have not only had the honor to learn how to perfect my playing, but she has guided me through the audition process as well as taught me what perseverance is. When I struggle with the difficult parts of my repertoire, she never fails to suggest different strategies for me to play it with ease. Under her guidance, I have been successful at my auditions that allowed me to be accepted to several orchestras and bands. I highly recommend Mrs. Leehey as she is a one of a kind!"
"Elizabeth Leehey is a wonderful, very caring teacher who is very consistently showing GREAT results! Her students play at a very high level, many of them regularly audition and participate in District and All State Festivals, SEMSBA festivals, and perform at many local music events. Some students have won competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall. Elizabeth is driven, creative, and constantly enriches her student music curriculum with additional musical experiences, such as playing in various chamber groups, clarinet ensembles, community bands and orchestras, participating in local PorchFests and other concerts. If you are looking for a GREAT teacher, you have found her! Highly recommended! This recommendation comes from another music teacher and musician (flutist). We performed together, our students performed together, I enjoyed the concerts of her students! I can testify to the high professionalism of Elizabeth. And she is also a wonderful person!"
"I have known Elizabeth Leehey for more than ten years and had the pleasure of performing with her on many occasions. She is one of the most complete, knowledgeable, and talented musicians I have known. She shares her knowledge and musical understanding with fellow musicians in the group with whom we perform, and her patience and the clarity of her guidance is outstanding. I only regret that I live too far away from where she teaches and can’t take advantage of her teaching skills and versatility. I strongly recommend that anyone who dreams of playing a clarinet, whether as a hobby or to pursue a career, should take advantage of the opportunity to study with Liz."
"Remember when it was time to sign up to take a musical instrument in grammar school? We heard the demonstrations, and it was clear that great talent and expertise were needed for the clarinet. I chickened out, but have been fascinated by the instrument ever since. When I heard Liz Leehey perform I was thrilled at her musicianship and command of the instrument. Don't chicken out - with her instruction you can master and thrill, too."
