"My daughter has been attending TECCA Connections Academy since 8th grade. After trying regular public school, we came right back to TECCA. She has done so well. The support is awesome, the teachers are so friendly. The best part is she can work and attend school as well. She's had the same homeroom teacher the entire time which is incredible. This is her senior year and I have to admit, it will be bittersweet to have to say goodbye. This is such a great alternative to regular public school. She has matured at home and at work and I can't be more proud of her. Thank you Connections Academy and TECCA."
"This is from my family's experience this year at Tecca middle school and high school. PROS: The teachers are phenomenal. Kids are DEFINITELY learning. They are able to take a high level Spanish course (HS) and a really cool digital art class (middle school). CONS: 1. Some curriculum is Pearson standardized testing, and multiple choice testing is quite simplistic and can be subjective. Many quizzes or quick checks only have 4 or 5 or 6 questions, so students only have to get 2 questions wrong to get a D. 2. Because they don't have a music department, there is no opportunity to participate in music or regional music festivals. (The TECCA solution is to recommend that we reach out to the local district. I tried. They will not sponsor my child.) For me, participation in district festivals was a highlight of my middle school and high school years, but for my students staying at TECCA means my children will never know this fabulous opportunity for collaboration in the arts. And while TECCA have student activities and clubs, I have learned that club advisors don't get paid unit the SECOND year of active club participation, so the overworked teachers have to volunteer their time for free. Bottom line: TECCA is a great solution during COVID. But we will probably return to in person education when the opportunity arises."
"Best school ever!! Teachers are always there for students and teach so well without time stress. Mr Doherty was my daughters social studies teacher last year and Homeroom teacher. Mr Doherty was by far our favorite he is so missed but all of the teachers we love and build long lasting relationships with! Go Tecca!!!"
"I am soooo disappointed in this school. My son was a returning student. I completed the all necessary forms and sent all needed paperwork in before the end of school and I am being told my son is on a waiting list! Hey, TECCA, how do you put a returning student with special needs on a wait? My son will now be a year behind due to this school. My son is autistic and now very upset that he can't school. Thanks for nothing enrollment specialists. I am reporting this school to the Department of Education."
"Absolutely amazing. As long as you are on top of your work and actively working with your child...this is a TOP ONLINE SCHOOL! I was able to assist my daughters in learning to read...she read over 60 books this summer after her kindergarten experience in TECCA. I am so pleased and beyond appreciative of this accumulative effort to make this possible online for families like mine. We have had the best experience. If youre feeling overwhelmed - don't be discouraged, reach out and ask for help. I was overwhelmed at first with a k student and 1st grader but once I did my own homework and figured out what I needed to do.. It was a breeze and the kids flourished. They send you ALL of the materials you need and are super helpful. There are field trips and live classes with the kids classmates. I highly recommend this school. It's beautifully operated and was a truly wonderful experience. Thank you TECCA. Thank you Ms. Hunter and Ms. Simmons. My girls learned so much! ❤❤❤❤❤❤"
