"I had a wonderful experience at Bay View! It provided me with an excellent education and prepared me well for college. It gave me such self confidence being in an all girls environment. The sisterhood stays with me to this day!"
"Bayview offers academic rigor combined with a mercy tradition that builds students’ character, integrates service learning, focuses on spiritual wellness, nurtures social- emotional development, and promotes social justice. Teachers are dedicated, responsive, caring, and experts in their field. They are strengths based, culturally responsive, inclusive and connected to every student in their approach. Every student is valued at Bayview- the athlete, mathlete, scientist , artist, performer, and more! Bayview teaches to the whole child and equips young women with an experience and opportunities to find their voice and feel confident, competent and ready to lead."
"I couldn't imagine a more supportive, engaging and encouraging environment for learning. My daughters have enjoyed an incredible experience academically, extracurricularly and playing sports at Bayview. If I could add stars to my review I would."
"My BayView high school experience provided me with a strong academic foundation and life-long friends. In particular, the science department thoroughly prepared me to succeed in rigorous college and medical school classes. I would recommend this school to all young women, especially those interested in a STEM career."
"I was a student of this school starting around the early 2000s, so things have hopefully changed since then. Why take the time to still write a review you ask? Well, because the treatment by the actual Principal and especially the Vice Principal Pate has continued to have negative ramifications to my life to this day. Pate reveled in having a few students who she deemed "problems" even if there were no traditional "trouble makers" in a class. She would pull me out of a class, make me late to my next class, and then lie to my teacher when I told them I was late to class because I had to talk to Pate (they would caller her to confirm what I said in front of me and she would actually lie and tell them that she never had a meeting with me at all)...again. For what, you ask? Because they wanted me to do an after school activity that I refused to do due to the director/coach's treatment of me outside of school, and Pate's horrid treatment of me during class time. I almost failed out of my last year of schooling there not because I was a bad student, but because I literally missed more than half of a year of classes for no reason at all other than I wouldn't participate in an after school activity. My family made the decision to pull both myself and my sisters out of the school entirely so they would not have to be subjected to Pate as well. That being said, the actual teachers for the most part were lovely with very few exceptions. The education you receive is very good, I'm not going to lie. I confidently felt that I was beyond my peers when I went to college due to the education that I received at Bay View. But, it's honestly not worth the risk of your mental well being. The bullying done by the people who should be protecting your children is completely unacceptable. I would only wholeheartedly recommend sending your daughter to this school if there has been a change in "management" so to speak since 2015. Which, looking at their website, there unfortunately hasn't been."
