"Our family loves LKA! Our older daughter has been there for three years and we did not have any doubts about enrolling our younger daughter after she was born. The director is knowledgeable, accessible, and creative. You can tell she really loves the kids. We like that it's a small center (one preschool room, one toddler room, one infant room) and that they incorporate Japanese exposure as well as lots of crafts, music, dance, yoga, and plenty of free play and outdoor time. I love seeing my daughters' faces light up when they find their favorite teachers in the morning. I'm so grateful we have LKA in our lives!"
"My daughter has been attending LKA for almost two years now, and I am so glad that my sweet, sensitive kiddo is a part of this wonderful little community. My daughter was born right before the pandemic, and between parental leaves and early lockdowns, she was at home with just me and my husband for her first year of life. I was so worried about sending her off to school, but the patient teachers at LKA made her feel safe and comfortable from day 1. She has been thriving there ever since (from the infant room to the toddler room, and now preschool). I love hearing my daughter talk about her teachers and friends, watching her show off her new yoga moves, seeing the adorable art projects she brings home, and learning about what she’s learning. They recently had a space unit, where the staff turned the preschool into a space station! Reiko (the director) is very creative, and I love seeing her ideas for the classroom take shape. I also really appreciate the Japanese immersion component; it’s so nice to hear my daughter belting out her favorite Japanese children’s songs every day. We’ve had a great experience at LKA!"
"We love LKA! We appreciate the director’s thoughtful communication to the parents, which must be difficult as the pandemic evolved over the last year. The teachers are very friendly and we love reading the notes from them every day. My daughter loves all the different activities they do - music, yoga, art, circle time and the neighborhood walks. It’s great that she’s able to get exposure to Japanese and English at such a young age. My daughter has been there for a year since she was 20 weeks old. She started in the infant class and transitioned into the toddler class after she turned one. Her classes have been small (5 in the infant class, about 8 in the toddler class) so we feel great about the teachers getting to know her and her friends well. She loves school and as parents, we love watching her grow and develop at LKA."
"Moderately sized school, well loved by the children. Hands-on Director who is consistently improving and updating curriculum and methods for the students’ best interests. Friendly staff who genuinely care for the kids."
"I have two sons attending LKA, they both enjoy their time at daycare. The teachers are very dedicated to each child's development and growth. They make sure the kids stay engaged through the day with several activities including music class, yoga, circle time & reading English/Japanese books. We chose this daycare for our first son so that he could be immersed in Japanese culture & learn the language. We are so happy both our sons are doing so well LKA!"
