"Fascinating home of FDR on the same Hyde Pro property as his presidential library. The home was significantly expanded in the early 20th century, but encompasses a much earlier building. The interiors are preserved exactly as they were at the time of the presidents death. Very interesting to learn how he clandestinely navigated the two story structure in his wheel chair. A family home that feels lived in and real in contrast to the more opulent beaux-arts Vanderbilt mansion up the road."
"WOW! This place is amazing! His home is beautiful and filled with all of his family's furniture, clothes and personal belongings. A true treasure. Let's you look inside the personal life of the greatest president and longest term president our great nation has ever had. The museum has some of the most amazing things like the boats he built and trust me, he built a lot of beautiful ships. We've visited New York a few times but always missed this and finally we made it and it was well worth the trip. We will for sure be back."
"I have visited many historical homes but this one stands out for me. And wonderfully decorated home but it's not garish. It feels homey and it is evident that the Roosevelt were family focused, by the way, they have children's chairs mixed among the other furniture in the great room."
"Great presidential library and museum. This place has grown into a destination of its own. The grounds are beautiful. Museum has a ton of interesting information. The house brings history into life. Highly recommend this place. Would recommend budget 3 hours at least. Great for school age students. A lot of history. Consider purchasing a national park pass for other sites!"
"Drove two hours to tour the museum and grounds and well worth the trip! We pent several hours going through the museum and library. There are two floors to stroll through and many events to learn about. We also walked the grounds and garden area which were beautiful. Plan on three hours to visit everything to see."
