"A short story...On December 26th our furnace stopped working at 6:00 pm. I called the answering service, who promptly picked up, and told us a repair tech was in a neighboring town finishing a job and would come to us next. 20 minutes later, Dana from Townsend, arrived to address the issue. Dana was professional, knowledgeable and very personable. 5 minutes later our furnace was reset and we were back in business. Ed and I were blown away by the professionalism of this company considering it was "after hours". I should also mention, Townsend had just "inherited " us from Petro Fuel so we were new customers! The next day, I called in to compliment the company and was personally called back by the owner! Needless to say, this is an AWESOME company from start to finish and we are customers for life!"
"I would not recommend Petro for any services. My experience with them has been unfortunately poor. The attached photo is a bill for example that illustrates how problematic their billing systems are when you get billed for a $115 charge that displays as $45 subtotal. For another example we had them do some work at the house and run a propane line for a gas fireplace. They had to leave for an emergency for another job (which is understandable, as it was for a gas leak), but when they came back to finish the work, they charged us twice for coming out to the house. Not only did they charge us for coming out a second time. They charged us for the time is took for the technician to fill out paperwork in his truck in our driveway (this took him over an hour (labor charge) to do, not even sure how that is possible unless he was etching it in stone or eating lunch). I even went out to check on him twice and checked in because I was concerned for his health with how long he was sitting out there. If you are looking for a company to just come and deliver oil or propane, they are OK at that. But I would not use them for any services otherwise. They will over charge and under deliver."
"all was fine until they surprised us with a very high price in the last delivery. They filled my tank and charged .46 per gallon more than last time (5 weeks ago.) Not one of the other local fuel oil suppliers in the Seacoast area charge $4.26 like Petro does. Fielding's is only $3.45. I'll be switching to them. Bye Petro."
"Not exactly happy with the service. It is recommended that the oil tank does not go below 1/4, especially In the winter months, but has happened now on a couple of occasions. Called customer service since I was concerned that tank is below 1/8 now and was almost impossible to get through. Might have to switch to a more reliable service in the future."
"My first experience with Petro was awesome. I had a leaking oil tank filter problem and they sent someone out within 2 hours. Tony was great, friendly, smart, very polite and he fixed that filter within 45 minutes. You have a new, happy customer!"
