Reviews of Ira Subaru Service Center
"They rushed my brake job, paid too much and learned shortly after it was done wrong. Don't waste your time or money."
"Avoid !! Saved for years to buy a nice used car , and went to Subaru Danvers dealership to avoid the used car lot routine . Looking for a civic or accord but a woman talked us into this great used car that just came in a trade that we need to test drive . After driving a 2003 Honda for years it was time to upgrade and drop 11,000 cash I’ve worked hard for over the years saving for a new vehicle . 3rd day owning vehicle check engine light comes on we bring it in and are told to leave the car , few days later we get the call that there are 2 recalls on this vehicle and it will be fixed . After a week with no updates , just the sorry service center taking so long to call you back . They are on vacation , they are out sick , they are working on getting the parts . Finally after 10 days we get the call to come get it all fixed . 2hr later we get another text don’t come because the car died in middle of road after fixing . Now they say the starter is gone and it’s a bad week because everyone on vacation . Here we go again . Imagine saving for years and giving that much money over thinking your at Subaru not a used car lot and I’m getting a safe reliable vehicle for my money . Under a week driving the car and being told all kinds of things wrong with after handing over the cash made us sick . “ owner “ I noticed on my Subaru dealership review you commented “ if I’m willing to call you, so you can make it right “ we tried that remember ? We sat down with you 2 weeks after giving you 11,000 cash for the vehicle and you told us it was sold as is and by law you don’t have to fix the recall . But to be nice you are fixing for us . We took the car to an honest mechanic who told us the long list of things wrong with this vehicle and the cost to fix these things . So your future customers are aware , tell us here in detail what can you do to make this right ? We are still out $11,000 and our trade in you gave $500 for. Will you give us our full money back and trade in ? Can you fix all the problems this vehicle has ? We are hard working Americans and $ 11,000 cash does not come easy for us as I mentioned before handing you the money it took me years to save for a good reliable vehicle."
"After saving for a year and hunting for a decent car I decided a dealership would be the best route. I ended up at Ira Subaru. The sales person was so nice and helpful. I definitely thought I was getting a reliable car for my hard earned money. We talked about how hard it is to save and I told her this was every dollar to my name going into this car ($11,500) and thought I was walking a way with something that would last me a few years. After a week of owning the car the check engine light came on the dash. They got me into the service center right away but I didn’t see my car again for almost 2 weeks. No one would answer the phone or call me back. The sales person I was in communication with would tell me they were calling me that day and never would. It went on for 2 weeks like that. (They did give me a loner but I wanted MY car back). Finally they tell me it’s ready to come get it, then with in the hour I get called back the starter went on the car and they needed more time to fix it. I finally get the car back and I now feel it drives and sounds even worse than before I brought it in. I understand I bought a used car but my 2003 Civic was more reliable than this car. Now the check engine light is off but the car rumbles when it drives. This car makes me sick to think of how much money I wasted. I wish I could go back in time to the day before I spent all my money on a lemon and just keep my money! Do not buy a used car from this place! No matter how nice the sales person may seem."
"I lost my only set of keys for my Subaru Outback 2013. I looked online and it said a dealership would have to do the work of getting a key and programing it for me. To begin the process I called 4 times and got 4 different answers on what the process would be. I then showed up after I had paid for and ordered a key to have them tell me that the process was different once again. I had my car towed for them to program it, but I enabled the ebreak and the dealership told me there was no way to disengage it so I would have to hire a tow truck. After all the back and forth a friend told me to check around. Pop-a-lock was able to come to my house do all the work for half of what the dealership charged. And the kicker... the unprogrammed key turned on the electronic system without being programmed and allowed me to turn the ebreak off myself. While the staff is kind and polite I do not believe they are well trained. If you're buying a new car I'm sure they would be great, but if you're looking for service go somewhere else."
"You come to place telling them what needs to be repaired. After a while, they find what else is wrong with your car. In the case if they offer you to leave your car overnight for additional repairs which they (seemingly) found, there is a good chance that some working parts are removed and some feeble , almost not working parts are being installed. Then in a short while you will come to fix these z (feeble)parts and, surely, pay again for new ones. And this process could continue and continue untill the staff notices that the client is at the boiling point."
