Wood's Heating Service

"I’m totally frustrated and disappointed with the response I received from Woods. However, I do want to make it clear that the technician they sent out was exceptional. The problem was the total disregard for my issue! On 11/20/23 I contacted Woods to request they send a technician out because the propane in one of my buildings was not working. The technician arrived that day in after approximately and hour he informed me that he had to bleed the line of air. When I asked how that happened he told me I must had let the tank run out of propane. I told him that I didn’t think that was possible since I am on automatic delivery. He stated that since Woods let the propane run out there would likely be no service charge. In Dec. I received a bill for the service charge. I wrote an inquiry on their web page and received no reply. A few weeks later I called and spoke to someone in the office and she stated that someone would contact me. In Jan. I received a voicemail stating my bill was overdue. I contacted the office and asked that someone contact me since I had a question regarding my bill. That same day I received a call from (Larrry?). He stated that he reviewed everything and determined that the problem was not from running out of propane. I attempted that between the time the last propane was delivered I ran out of propane so after it was filled and I attempted to use the heater there was air in the line requiring the technician to bleed the line. He insisted that it didn’t run out and that was not the cause of the problem. So here are the facts. On 3/23/23 21.3 gallons was delivered. I didn’t receive another delivery until 10/16/23, 44.2 gallons. That was SIX MONTHS later. On 11/20 I called for service. I never used the building from 10/23 - 11/20. Clearly the technician was right and WOODS let the propane tank empty. So now I am stuck paying for a service call they created!" On 2/2 I received a call from Woods from the customer service manager. He was very polite and stated that there was a misunderstanding/communication and the service charge would be removed. So thank you for getting back to me and adjusting the bill."

"I had no heat this morning, so I called Wood's. (We have a service contract with them.) David was very friendly and empathetic. He had a technician dispatched within the hour. The technician was very knowledgeable, pinpointed the problem and had everything working and tuned up quickly. Great communication via phone and email with the office throughout. We've always had great service from Wood's and today was no exception. Highly recommend."

"Relied on Woods over a two year for a 4 unit bldg in Providence one year as a service contract, turned into growing displeasure as they would cancel appointments regularly even after waiting months due to being back-logged, total confusion on their costly service plans and spotty tech knowledge depending on who you got when they did come. Many times we would pay for a tech to come out only to have only a confusing conversation but left with no answers. I think the problem is they only specialize in certain areas of heating and cooling but it takes a few years to figure what those are. After awhile it was time to move on."

"They always charge you ceiling price when you have contract with them. So, stay away and find a fair/honest company. Example: my neighbor and I got the delivery on the same day. Her heating company is Sunshine, and mine Woods. Both of us have service contracts. She paid $3.99 and I paid $4.95 per gallon. I called Woods afterwards and the rep said that’s the ceiling price I paid and yapped about if the oil price goes up in the future I’d still pay 4.95. Well, I just want to pay fair price, now and the later. I do not care about the ceiling price which they always charge regardless. In summary, stay away."
