"on 11/30 purchased an '09 Subaru Forester with some minor damage to the right rear bumper. Previous owner provided all his repair records and VI Reports. On 12/12 McCracken Auto Express' VI Report put a "Fail" by "Bumpers/Fenders/Exterior Sheet Metal" claiming it was a safety issue. This is not a light but a reflector on the bumper which still reflects! Knowing the car had passed inspections before, I should have said "Thanks but no thanks." I attempted to argue with the mechanic that this car had passed previous inspections. To no avail. Stupidly, I allowed them to tag my inspection sticker with the red R. What a costly decision. Centre Street Getty gas station as well as the people running Hynes Auto Center both told me, "It's not a light, it's a reflector." And it functions as it is supposed to. Here's the kicker: Because it is part of the rear bumper, the entire bumper must be replaced. Hynes' estimate: $745! My suggestion: DO NOT use McCracken Auto Express for you vehicle inspection unless you are absolutely certain it will pass. If I could give a zero star I would!"
