"Great location park in Waltham MA. Admission is free. Multiple hiking trails (although almost all start uphill). The top offers a great view of Boston (sadly we were there on one of the days with the wildfire). Can drive all the way to the top and there is a handicap accessible trail to overlook. Definitely recommend."
"Lovely hike with a fantastic view of Boston. It has some steeper parts to get your blood pumping but nothing too difficult, more periodic bursts of invigoration. There are some less pretty / more pedestrian parts (hint: these are the paved parts) but it's easy to engineer a route that makes less use of these areas. Do watch out for black ice as there was a fair amount of it and I imagine that we went in a time where it would be the least we'd expect to see. So maybe have crampons in your kit just as a CYA in case it's more pervasive than when we went. Could easily navigate around it but I could also see more of it being a bit dicey. That said, we did go sledding down it on my rucksack so there's always that as an option as well! And the playground (appears fairly new btw) off the parking lot at Totten Pond Rd. is a great bribing tool for getting the kiddos to acquiesce to the hike (that and a thermos of hot chocolate and gorp they concocted with goldfish, kettle corn, mallows, M&Ms, pretzels, fruit snacks, etc.!)."
"Great park for a small hike and long walk. Park in the lot and walk the road or hike the hill trails. Dogs can go off leash if well trained. Wonderful scenery. View at the top is amazing on a clear day. Recommend taking dogs before 10am along the road before traffic is let in. Plug in cars can park across the road for charging at the ice rink. Use the sledding hill on winter."
"Enjoyable hike! Not too difficult but there are some challenging parts. A lot of interesting plants and insects along the way! Gorgeous view of Boston! We came in early and it’s so serene and beautiful :) really enjoyed it!"
"WOW i was not expecting this to be an actual hiking park. Didn’t know what I was getting myself into bc I drove past it thinking it’s a flat elevation park that’s small. It’s anything but flat and the exact opposite of small. There is a small but free parking lot right at the entrance. I parked here and walked up. The first 10 minutes was all uphill climbing to about midway in the park. Here it splits into two, the shorter path to the left, the longer path straight ahead. Both trails have a sunset and sunrise hike, but the good thing is that if you’re not up for the hike, you can actually drive up! But where’s the fun in that, right? Didn’t realize how big it was and will definitely have to go back and hike to the top. Beautiful scenery regardless and a great place to get a midday walk."
