Reviews of Ruggles Park
"Ruggles is a nice park for it's open space, huge trees and benches to have a seat. As well as a nice little playground area and some swings. Up the hill is a basketball court in it's own space with a great few of the park. The sidewalks are cared for and I love how they wrap around and go up the hill. The softball field is a really cool. We had lots of fun getting some swings in. It's also a good place to try out a drone.. just enough. People skate , roller blade , skate board on the sidewalks. Some kids bring their battery powered ride on toys. Kids can also enjoy riding their scooters too. The park has squirrels all the way around. People walk their dogs and I didn't see any on the sidewalks, so that's a plus . I've never seen it littered up. Parks and Recreation does a great job keeping it looking good. I really would love to see a few more maples for their fall colors and shade. It would be a great place to plant some flowering plants and maybe something fragrant here and there. The birds and butterflies increasing would be awesome. There's an ice cream shop and 2 convenience stores nearby. A pizza place really close by. Across the street is the Veterans headquarters. People are donating and coming and going. I'm new to the area but that's a great spot for a farmers market setup. I don't know if they have that. It's a great place to spend time with the kids playing outdoors. We all sleep better after a trip to the park. Simply visiting a park makes everyone feel better most the time. A good place to take off your shoes and ground yourself for anyone into that. It's also a great place to read a book or simply meditate. I've seen people spread a blanket out and have a picnic with the baby on a blanket. There's so much a park can offer and Ruggles is a pretty decent park overall. It's got it's on beauty. Please someone plant some bulbs or butterfly bushes and flowering plants. More colors would make it extra special right ? Simply an idea. Maybe a few more benches. Which by the way , there have been more benches added in a few other places I know of. That's a real blessing for the people of Fall River. I would like to Thank everyone that makes Ruggles Park what it is. A great neighborhood park.. And... thanks for all the new benches around and about."
"I've been going to Ruggles Park since I was a little girl, so it is nice that it has been redone and I can bring my children. I love the summertime they always have lunch in the park I believe from 11:30 to 12:30 (might not be the exact time)."
"It's okay, but it's boring. The views are boring. Looks to be taken care of. My vision for Ruggles would be to add exercise equipment that doesn't need maintenance. Such as pull-up bars, and back arm dip bars. More blooming bushes would be awesome against the wall.. more color. More flowers. Surprised the walls don't have railings giving all the code that is implemented throughout the city. Which is a good thing."
"Grew up in this park....we used to say we all graduated Ruggles College of Knowledge. This is a public park and not specifically a dog park, although they're welcome. Always nice Spring day walk thru the park"
"Excellent place for the kids to play. Plenty of room and never too crowded. For a park in the center of a busy urban neighborhood it is surprisingly an unused place for the whole family. Come down and have a picnic with the family. Bring a blanket to lay out on and let the kids run rampart without any worries in the world. If you like to relax but the kids are always keeping you running around like a crazy person then bring them to this park, lay back and enjoy your day.......I recommend it for your own sanity! Enjoy!"
