"I was referred to Redmond Fleet by Campers Inn RV for a failed state inspection for worn rear drivers side brake pads on my Coachman Leprechaun C class RV. Matt told me to bring it by and he’d work me into his tight schedule. A few hours after dropping it off, Matt called telling me my front brake pads were close to needing replaced and asked if I wanted those done as well, which I agreed to. After the work was done, Matt emailed me a bill for $1,018.24! This outrageous amount covered only brake pads for 3 tires plus 3 hours labor. No rotors were included which would be expected at that price. For some reason, the rear passenger side brake pads were not changed even though I requested it to be done. My biggest mistake was not getting a quote from Matt prior to the work being done. I assumed the work would be done at a fair price. I called Matt after he emailed the bill to me expressing my shock at the amount due. I asked Matt if he could come down on the price in any way to include a possible Disabled Veterans discount and his reply to me was “he doesn’t work that way and I should have asked for a quote”. As far as Matt was concerned $1,018.24 is a fair price for an incomplete brake job. I feel Matt should have given me a quote when he took the time to call me back recommending that the front brake pads be replaced as well, which according to Campers Inn RV, didn’t need to be done. When I showed Campers Inn RV the $1,018.24 bill, they agreed it was outrageous for an incomplete brake pad job and they apologized for referring me to them. They also mentioned that when they inspected the front brake pads, they passed inspection and didn’t need replaced. I feel Matt took advantage of the situation of me not requesting a quote. A fair and honest business owner would make the customer aware of the cost regardless of being asked or not."
