"Unbelievable price gouging with oil cost/automatic delivery! Supervisor never returned my calls when soot completely ruined the paint job on my back deck. Call back never received when I asked for an explanation of what happened with another issue. They increased price on service plan without communication. Seeing other reviews in which they have taken advantage of customers. They also don’t listen to their techs concerns."
"Charged me to remove a tank that was there when I bought the house! I had to pay it so my credit didn’t get ruined. I am almost 80 years old too. Good going for seniors Downeast!"
"Very responsive. We’re customers at two properties — one on #2 fuel oil, one on propane. Overall, we’ve been extremely happy. One or two billing issues over 20-yrs, but these were successfully resolved,. Maintenance programs are a good value. Strongly recommend Downeast Energy.."
"I switched gas companies and requested my tank to be picked up. It's now been 7 weeks and the tank is still here. Pleasant customer service people but awful service otherwise. Makes me also question their ability to provide reliable gas delivery."
"Downeast energy delivered oil to the wrong address. They were even told by the people there that it was unusual since their tank was nearly full already and they had not called. Instead of calling me, the person who purchased the oil, they just continued business as usual. When i went downstairs and noticed my tank was nearly empty I called. They said "we spoke to your mom" I said "my mom doesn't live at my house." Once we figured out the confusion, they delivered the oil and proceeded to charge me a second time. Im still getting late fee slips in the mail. I've tried calling the "delivery manager" and left voicemails and have been told she will call me back. I've received no call back for several days. This has got to be by far the WORST service I've ever received in the entire state of Maine. DO NOT give them your hard earned money!"
