Best Muffler & Auto Care Center

"I was told to get my car under coated, this place was the place that I was told to go. Funny enough, the person recommending this place would know what my car needs, as he's my mechanic. He said "My car is there right now, I'll be picking it up later from them, I don't do under coating here obviously, but for the amount You've got in this car, I HIGHLY recommend it." Trusting his judgment above all others, I called this place; the guy that answered sounded busy/bothered, I might have said the wrong words, or he just didn't want to be on the phone? I DON'T KNOW. I asked if I could make an appointment for under coating and he said "We're not doing that anymore." I don't know what else it is called, is there a different term I am unaware of? Maybe he just meant they weren't doing it for the rest of the season, or he meant he wasn't doing it and he's the owner, but my mechanic doesn't recommend places on a whim and years ago the places he recommended were great (those are under new/different management, 1 closed), the fact that his car was there at that moment, getting that very service rendered, I'm inclined to believe that 'gruffy' just doesn't want to do his job anymore so he didn't. He didn't elaborate, didn't offer suggestions of places that actually do MECHANIC work, was very quick to get off the phone, I didn't bother trying to ask questions because he was so bothered to have answered the phone. I'd have called back if he'd said (or even asked) to. I'm just trying to keep 4 wheels on the road, this place is supposedly a place capable (but unwilling?). This isn't the first time I was recommended to go here, the few times I have 'almost' done it (called them), this place suddenly doesn't do the work anymore. I thought, initially, that maybe it was because they were moving from the left side of Canal, where the apartments/co-op now sits. I needed some work (and a muffler), for a different vehicle; I called to see if they could schedule the work / replace a muffler and hangers that had rusted out (I had only managed to mention the muffler), at THAT time they'd said they weren't doing mufflers, since I needed brake work too, I didn't bother trying to mention I had more work to schedule, simply conceded I had to go elsewhere; I don't know how one becomes a customer here, but, in 20 years, I have tried to give them money/work on the suggestion/recommendation of others and alas, I will not bother calling any other time, I suspect the mechanics will suddenly no longer be doing mechanic work needed done . . ."

"I went in for an estimate on some repairs and they were very thorough about the work that was going to be done. I bring my vehicle in next week. I'm sure everything will work out great."

"This is the most honest car shop I know. They do great jobs to fair prices. I have never been disappointed with them. OK, sometimes things are not as simple as you think but when they see what's wrong they are very open about it and let you know in advance, if they can, what to expect. Yes, I had to leave a car there once because it was not worth it to have it repaired. They took care of details to have it scrapped. Nice place. I am sending my friends there."

They solved my issue as affordably as it could be done and with a long lasting fix. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing auto repairs. Good bunch of people working there."
